Description
so, i accepted a few pre-show commissions before going to HEROES CON! 2 of the requests i got are from fans of BATB, perhaps my most favorite show ive worked on! i enjoy getting requests for commissions for almost anything, whether they be shows ive worked on or in "my own style",but BATB is very near and dear to my heart, so, i was very inspired to do this one quick! cant' wait to hand it off at HEROES!

Mr. Jones,
That is an awesome sketch! I am also attending Heroes con and i was wondering if you know how many sketches you will have time to do and perhaps a price range. I would love to get a sketch from you, hope to see you there, thanks!

Yes i am new to this site, i noticed a lot of the artists such as yourself who will be at Heroes Con are on here also. My wife and i are "veterans" lol of Heroes Con. It is a very friendly and laid back show but very busy! I was looking at the artist listing on their site for the show and saw that you had worked on the wb/dc programs and thought that was cool. I showed a couple of my friends the batman/bat-mite sketch you posted and they like it as well. There are so many great characters from the Brave and the Bold series, i think i would like to try and get something in that style. I guess the best thing i could do would be to come by your table friday morning and try and get on your sketch list? Thanks, my email address is cfletcher1@yahoo.com and/or i can check back here.

Mr. Jones that is an awesome sketch! I will be attending Heroes Con this year (2 weeks can't wait) and would love to get a sketch from you. Do you have any idea how many sketches you will have time for and maybe a price range. Thanks for any info and have a great day!

so is it weird for you making those think outlines in pencil? they look great, but I never could take the time to create a sort of outline for the outline. I don't know if what I'm saying makes sense...

what u r saying makes sense. its not weird for me, just a symbol of my "old-school-ed-ness" a million years ago, in high school, i went through a stint of being an inker, it has sort of led me to "think in ink" in terms of feeling and visualising my lines with "thicks and thins", most folks, if they were to apply line-weights at all, would wait until the ink stage, but in mind i sort of see it as an already inked piece, so i guess i just end up adding those line weights during pencil stage. makes my inking easier BUT also makes it more boring to do, cause i am truly tracing. now, not EVERYTHING i do has those line weights , particularly if i'm drawing in a style that just has a "dead-line", but the entire style of BATB was to have these line weights as part of the style, so , if one drew any BATB drawings WITHOUT line weights, technically, it would be "off-model" anyhoo, ive been doing it so long, i don't know that it really takes me anylonger to do things in the way, its kinda just the way i see thing now( for good or ill)

ahh, thanks for the insight, I always wonder what it's like to morph a style specifically for animation. The amount of attention to detail is crazy, and I think I'd just be off model all the time. : P

it definitely takes ome effort to be "on-model"

I love BATB, still re-watch the episodes on DVR, it's so much better than I expected. And I love how much of Batman/DC's history they squeeze into these kid friendly shows. Nice work, their colors and expressions work great together.
