so, here is a VERY simple commission i did for a nice gentleman, who INSISTED on color. i have NEVER COLORED anything, but i figured what the hell?!?!?! i did, i thought," hey, its terrible for my first time trying to color anything". i realize i am AT LEAST a decade behind all u fine folks doing amazing color work in PS, here on a DA, but i figured, "u got to start somewhere ,right?"i was going to just leave it at that, but i sent this pic to my old buddy and color guru and he encouraged me to post it!
so, here we go! please be kind, i am going to be TRYING to move forward and color more stuff. please be patient with me as slowly but surely find my way.

Aw, the colors look great! The whole thing looks great! If this were concept art for a new X-men toon (and it easily could be) I would totally watch it! The rendering suits you, the palette is pleasing, and the colors don't overpower the linework. There are a lot of colorist who can't even say all that!

Did you redraw your black line in Photoshop? Im curious what you do your pencils with. I loveeee your style. It's so slick

as to your question...yes, i did digitally "ink" it. i created a layer in PS and then used the brush tool to try to simulate an inked line.

Thanks!!! awww you made my day. I work in the animation industry usually as a storyboard artist, although presently I'm unemployed. I'm guessing you are at WB or Hasbro or Cartoon Network, right? You should come out with a book
