Wish D&D expect not all hyenas are as bad as their humanoid counterparts, the gnolls. Some of the are neutral as most animals, and some are good when tamed by you, if you are good.

I guess with this degree of diversion from the norm they're sense of 'humor' Β is pretty much nil. Β Nice work though! Β

I came across this and almost knew it was WoTC! I love it!!! It's very monster manual-ish!
Hyenas... Their brutality is only exceeded by their cunning and their efficiency. They eat flesh, bone, skin, hair and even the dirt and grass were blood has been spilled. And that's just for the normal variety to the right...
The females are larger than the males, and as such, dominate them. I would think that the Drow would like them for that.

Guessing from older DnD stuff, I would say something like a "Dire Hyena?"

Wow, this is very cool! So ferocious! I just love the dynamic sort of way you drew them! And the dust and bones just makes you know they're hungry...!

No one seems to have noticed the mangled body beneath the big green one. That alone adds such depth to their evilness, as if their length of teeth and spines weren't enough.
Viciously well done, sir.

A very dramatic rendition, good positioning with the Hyenas they look as if they are in movement.
Very good...

And people thought hyenas were "evil" before. I'd hate to run into one of these bad boys in a dark alley. Really nice job on them!
The one one the right reminds me of a striped hyena. Does the one on the left have spikes on its back?

Hi - cheers. Yes, the one on the left has spikes on its back... they raise its evil quota by a good 20-23% (and fulfill the brief ).
