The other half is on the way-- should be done some time next week! It's basically about how to turn you goals in to plans that you can take action on! Thanks for the comment!

This, is so TRUE!! I've allways had the goal to become a professional artist, and it makes me sad whenever I hear the fact that a lot of my friends don't have a goal in life, a dream, a road to lead them. How do they go though life without a goal? D: GOALS ARE LIFE!

This is so true...people always underestimate how important goals are but they can be such a driving, positive force in our lives.

I think this is a very profound comic. if we didn't have goals in life everything would be disorganized and all over the place. I always try to make goals for myself so that I always have something to work towards.
and that's always a good thing.

Heh, I came to that same realization just a month or so ago, and actually my goal is more or less the same too

Goood! but, when you decide something like this and drop a carreer (like me), your family (mine) would kill you and make it an accident... Not to be negative, but, reality allways hits on your face... In my country draw comics is an elitist work, and not really well paid... Knowing this too, iยดve choose this path, but, every time i think about it seems like a crazy dream.
Loved the comic, by the way... xDD

"I want enough money with my comics to support a family". When I read that I got a shiver down my spine because of how true that is for me. Thank you for this wonderful piece and the inspiration!

Speaks the truth. But I forget that all too often when I get caught up in something. Art just becomes way too much fun sometimes and before I know it I'm on my way to something else that what I set as a goal at first oWo Thanks, I needed to see this!

But what if when asked what I deeply desire, I can't think of anything? I'm not happy now but I can't think of anything I am passionate enough about to aim for. The figure in the comic has a clear aspiration that they can work towards, what if you don't have any idea what you want to do?

StephenMcCranie In reply to Millmac [2011-11-04 14:38:49 +0000 UTC]
In the past I would have told you, "Just make a goal to find your passions! Be passionate about becoming passionate!"
But I have come to understand that it's a very unique thing to know exactly what you want, and life is more complicated than "being passionate about being passionate."
One of the things I'm going to touch on in this series is the hard idea that achieving your goals won't give you lasting happiness. The truth is that who we are is more important than what we do. I may have done a lot, but who am I? That's what's important!
Please don't feel like your missing out on life if you don't have a clear goal. There are much more important things in life than goals, and also much more challenging things. Achieving goals are easy compared to loving people, or trying to figure out what life is all about, right?
For me as a Christian, I've come to believe that loving Jesus and people is more important than any comics I can make, no matter how well crafted.
Hope that helps!

You will find it out soon or late, just living and making mistakes but learning at the same time. When young I wanted to be a lot of different things when I become adult, but I have changed my mind across the years and I`m aiming to art now. Just pay attention on what other peole think you could be good at, and what things do you enjoy to do, and what things you think you are good at doing too.

As many have said, it totally feels as if this character is an extension of the viewer, putting words to those feelings all of us as artists stress or worry over. Ice cream castle indeed!
A well deserved D.D. Congrats!
