Description
Something a little different I've recently become very fond of Asian (particularly Japanese) culture, and I've wanted to do an illustration of a geisha ever since seeing Memoirs of a Geisha. And not to get all "we are the world" but it is really invigorating exploring a different culture. And by no means is this an accurate portrayal of a traditional geisha, but rather, like everything, an interpretation. Also, the kimono is based on several different references and my own sense of what is aesthetically pleasing, so if it is completely contradictory to what a geisha would actually wear, oh well, such is life. Dig.
