This is a collage I made where I added Bill Finger's name in the credits of Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. Retroactively correcting an injustice. WB should officially do this for the original films, on the classic Batman films, at least, that are seen by far more people that don't read comic books, to right the wrong of having not credited Bill Finger at the time.

Tom Andrae explained, "Bob was asked to give Bill credit as co-creator by the Finger estate when the first Batman [1989] feature film was in production and he declined. Bob felt guilty about how he had treated Bill, although he was afraid to acknowledge Bill as co-creator of Batman, or to give him a byline, for fear it might open the door to a challenge to Bob’s legal status as the sole creator of Batman. He feared a [Bill Finger] byline would quite negatively impact his Batman royalties."

Film Threat #5 (1992) reported, "One of the least appealing aspects of all the Bat-hype is Bob Kane. Kane, ostensibly the creator of Batman, has failed to tell the media that the original Batman story was written by Bill Finger, his late collaborator. Finger came up with all the major concepts, including the Joker, Commissioner Gordon, and the Batcave, he even had a hand in designing Batman's mask. Bill Finger's widow filled a suit. The case was apparently settled, but Finger received no credit on neither film [Batman (1989) and Batman Returns]. In the summer of 1989, when Kane appeared in every mag from Time to People (in which the withered, 70-something cartoonist calmed he'd never marry a woman his age because she'd 'look like my mother.')"

Bill Finger died of atherosclerosis [clogged arteries] in 1974. Bob Kane died in 1998.
