Description
For me and myself only! Been working on this one for ages.Symbolic content:
Shape of celtic knot-
because my heritage is of a celtic nature
Lotus Flower-
buddhist symbol for awakening spiritually/life in general.
(lets tell you a bit about why) The lotus flower starts off life at the bottom of the pond hidden in mud, as it grows, it emerges out of the mud, and rises up to the surface gradually. So it overcomes the difficulties of the dark gloomy depths to rise into the sun and turn into a magnificent bloom.
The symbol in the middle-
This is Aum in Tibetan script, and is associated with Buddhism. It is said to be the jewel in the lotus, and means 'all', past, present and future, everything. omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. A bit hard to explain!
The hands-
look as if they are trying to catch eachother, and to me it means that it is normally ourselves that hold us back, and is a reminder to let ourselves blossom just as the lotus.
anyway, hopefully I'll be able to get this done soon! Please don't use this for anything, as it is very personal to me, and would be a shame if people just copied it because it 'looked nice'.
ta peeps. leave some comments!

Great concept, very thoughtful and nicely executed. Have you gotten it done on your skin as well?

WOW. very nicely done--- and I'm a little suprised-- I'm celtic on my mother's side, and was brought up in an Indian Buddhist community.
I've seen it written as an Om, too, instead of Aum. weird, I have ne drawn on my hand right now.
Instant fave, this! love it.
