So, in desperate need of a breather from all the stress I have had at work, I did up a quick doodle on a layout sheet of my favourite masked mallard. I've kind of had him on the brain for the past 2 weeks as I am on round THREE of my Darkwing Duck marathon run of all 91 episodes... over and over and OVER again (some of them more than once, 'cause I have several must-see episodes ). My favourite Disney show of ALL TIME ever, I just occasionally need to put him aside for awhile to let the nostalgia take over again DWD is a brilliant series. One of Disney's best... I mean, what other Disney cartoon had the words "murder / death / kill / maim" uttered in almost every episode, several of which actually DEAL with said topics as the 'serious' undertone beneath all the slapstick? Seriously, watch it again AS AN ADULT and tell me that it was NOT a very dark and serious show at its core. Can't really find that anymore.

Anyway, I'm not 100% serious about my digital artwork yet, so this is a rather crude and quick draw-and-colour project. Turned out pretty good, considering I was only going to scan it and leave it as a Scrap Drew it by hand, Livetraced and coloured in Adobe Illustrator CS3. I LOVE the pen tool. I'm not really sure what he's confused about, but maybe it has something to do with his missing fedora? I just wanted to draw his head-feathers. They make me giggle.
