So in a sudden burst of inspiration (and totally forgetting about it until I went through my drafts), I decided I would enter the Sherlock Special Fan Work Contest because I haven’t drawn a lot and I love Sherlock so much, I just had to participate in it (seems to be a trend lately, me fully immersing myself in the Sherlock fandom because it’s awesome). Was going to do it with traditional media, but I was too lazy to switch chairs (my art desk is literally 2 steps away…… I am such a lump) and figured I haven’t played with my tablet for awhile, so… here you go. I didn’t have time to do anything fancy, so thought I would do a cute flatted comic done with rough colouring flat colours, because I like the look on other artist’s work but for some reason don’t like it on my own.
Consistency?! What’s that?!? Seriously, these dorks look completely different in every panel. I would have cleaned it up a lot more if I had time. This is LITERALLY me colouring my blue-line work. Oh, and I may have traced the promo photo a little, but I literally CANNOT TRACE and it looks craptastic. And don’t ask why Ben’s hand in the third panel is popping out of the promo photo. I liked it. Kept it. Now it’s weird. LOL.
Oh, right. Contest was basically come up with a scenario that the recently released promo photo for the upcoming special could be hinting at. Here’s my interpretation, because I REALLY doubt that they’re going to do a Victorian AU of the BBC-verse Sherlock. I honestly believe it’s the staff trolling us because that’s what they like to do.
Oh, and the joke about the photoshop? For those not in the fandom, click on that promo photo link there, and you’ll see that Sherl’s shoulder was cutoff, and was initially posted like that from the prod. staff until it got fixed hours later. We all laughed and had long-winded entertaining theories and arguments about the validity of the photo, fun was had by all. I quite frankly enjoyed all the debating back and forth. Sitting on the sidelines in this fandom is awesome.
For some reason I find Sherlock’s rant in the last panel hilarious, but it’s really not. I may be going a bit mad with all the sugar I’ve eaten this weekend “testing” my Christmas baking for my work’s potluck. And by “testing” I actually mean eating 2 or three helpings of each sweet thing I made. It smells like a goddamned sugar shack in my apartment.
Mmmkay. Anyway, not my best work, but I hope y’all will accept it anyway This was oodles of fun to do. It was actually done as a tallblock, but I didn't like how it displayed here so... Have a widescreen.
