Description
Why is this happening to me?  What is going on?

Tears wet her red cheeks.  She didn’t bother wiping them away.

Everything’s going wrong.  It isn’t supposed to be like this.

Her head crashed onto her pillow and she rubbed her face against it.  Sobs.  She turned on her side and hugged her knees as she lay in the dark.

“Why are you doing this to me God?  What did I do to you?”

Her eyes turned to the ceiling.  A look of frustration and anger burned through the darkness.

“Tell me!  What did I do to you?!”

Silence.

All she could hear was the whir of her ceiling fan and the tick of the clock.

The sobs returned.  The rush of anguish and desperation she had been avoiding came crashing over her.  This time she couldn’t avoid it.  Her mind was too weak and her spirit drained.

Her stomach wrenched.  A groan seeped through her tears.  They were coming so quickly and with such intensity that she couldn’t speak and she could barely think.  All she knew was that it hurt and she wanted it to stop.

“Why…  Why…?”

“Go Away!”

She clenched her eyes shut and rocked from side to side.  She rocked and cried and rocked and cried, until the feelings overtook her and her mind surrendered.  The rocking slowly stopped as she fell into a fitful and restless sleep.
