.....I know that feeling all too well, being introverted, myself.
Christ, took me close to several months to take up the invitation a friend of mine offered me to join his path/starfinder group, and that's about 6 people.
I mean, granted, it ended up being for the best, but I feel for the poor girl.
All of sudden, what you're looking forward to is a feeling of immense trepidation, and potential impending doom.
The drained, lifeless eyes in the final panel really sell it.

I can empathize with Meg.
I need my time alone to refill my batteries. And interacting with other people drains those batteries. If I can get some discourse going with them, my batteries drain a bit slower, but something like a party? Ugh, it's like I'm surrounded by energy vampires.
I really hope this turns out well for Meg, despite the odds seeming like they may be stacked against her now.
