This is the first test I made using custom shapes in Photoshop.I had never done too much with custom shapes, but a friend of mine got me to try it out.
It's fairly simple - you just make a selection however you like, go to the Paths menu, make a "work path" and save the path. Then you go to "Edit>define custom shape and it saves it in your menu (just like making a brush or pattern.
So... why custom shapes? Try it out and you'll see almost immediately. This mountain took me about 5 minutes!
Important safety tip: Make sure to save your shapes. I made a few that were too complex, Photoshop crashed as a result, and I lost what I had done since my last save of my presets.

Good tip on the saving , I made one that seemed to push PS a little too much. Nice work. Just curious the process of how you colored in the mountain.

I tried your instructions, but what do you do with it after you save the shape? how do you use it? is not in my brush presets, thanks for sharing, nice drawing by the way, it is awesome that you could pull this off in 5 min.

I didn't know you could make custom shapes... I thought it was limited to the ones that ship with Photoshop...
