Description

Kaliopi's eventual ridiculous size potential was telegraphed early on. In just a few years she was already wearing her parent's hand-me-downs as they struggled to keep up with her growth spurts. Besides being big, it was also clear that the child was just as smart and emotional as her peers with a love for playing and make believe. Kaliopi watched TV, learned to read and write, and showed an interest in puzzles and mysteries. In the early years there was a lot of concern from both her parents and the local school board on how to vaccinate her, or if the vaccinations would work, would be necessarily, or even potentially harmful. Even today, Kaliopi has pretty vivid memories of many doctor visits where she was given a battery of tests, xrays, and labs to determine if even OTC cough syrup was good for her.

In the end, it was the judgement of dozens of doctors and scientists that despite her size and the obvious morphological differences of her head, hooves, and tail - Kaliopi was essentially human on the microbiological scale. Which, if nothing else, cleared up if she needed to be seen by a doctor or a veterinarian. The jokes, sometimes playful and sometimes not, would hound her for years but as her size increased, so did her raw physical strength. By the time she was 10yrs old, Kaliopi was both too big and too strong that with her still child-like clumsiness, meant she had to retire from playing most physical sports with her peers for safety reasons. This did not keep her off the field after school. She still maintained friendships and played with those friends at every opportunity, which went a long way in instilling the need to be careful around the smaller kids and then even their parents as she entered her teens.
