Man I need to practise painting more, not really happy with this but I guess it works for a first take at it again in some time o3oAnd geez I screwed the hair up
Made this out of an older sketch I had lying around for a few weeks or I think even a month now, made it during a week that was really busy and where I actually was really exhausted so ye
I really want to try painting with soft brushes again actually, only did that once and it worked pretty well back then ovo
Pokémon and Shinx belong to Nintendo , GameFreak, The Pokémon Company and Creatures

This is a wonderful piece! What strikes me as memorable at a first glance is the use of lighting and shading to bring out the texture of the fur, which makes the Shinx truly stand out against the simple yet effective background. This lighting makes the Shinx look almost three dimensional.
Another thing that you did astoundingly well is your color choice. The blue of the sky is a different shade of blue than Shinx, and your choice of the colors for the grass compliments the star on its tail/in its ears, along with those electricity-generating bands on its legs, rather well.
As well, the expression in the face properly conveys emotion and makes the image feel natural.
The piece is composed well, with a strong focal point and colors that make it pleasing to the eye. I encourage you to keep up the great work!

This is adorable! I love the pose and how you did the fur texture. The shading also looks fantastic! I think the grass could use a little more shading, but other than that, it's practically flawless!

I often get a lil lazy and just don't really add anything like lighting on it
You're welcome! And I know how you feel; grass can be tedious to draw, so it's tempting to just rush through it!

Thanks! Ya, you're right, practice makes perfect, right? Though my (kinda) specialty is sketching, but I suppose it could look really good with shading and stuff, haha. ^^

lovely. excellent texture. it looks like i could reach out and pet that shinx. the grass looks like i could run my finger through it. it is a bit weird that half the sky is textured and the other half is smooth, but that's more of a minor nit pick. over all, it looks very nice

Idk I got really frustrated with it towards the end cause it felt like I was working forever on it and changed a lot of things that didn't work
