The fox is actually a young cub, one of about 8 that were playing around the path in front of me. I have fed the two young vixens with peanuts since they were cubs and they had brought their own cubs to join the feast.
The cub sat to watch me taking photos, out in the open, moving slowly around them, it is amazing how trusting wild animals become with free meals
I was using the built in camera flash along with some lights from my vehicle parked nearby.
The eyes on a fox are dark as the pupil opens right up to let light in when it is dark, ordinary red eye reduction will not work on the eyes as the reflection is more of a green colour on a fox.
I will try the filter idea see if I can improve the image any further.

Times like this are great chanse to watch wild animals and also to take some new photos [it's not easy to take photos like this in big city].

Thats true - red eye reduction doesn't help to much, in my [subjective] opinion, it's better to play with contrast / light / colors / filters - it's more effective than reduction of red
By the way - if You're changing contrast or colors, sometimes You can fix also photo quality. Of course it doesn't work for all photos, but it doesn't hurt to try it from time to time, when We need it

There were about 8 cubs and couple of vixen's playing when I got the shots, within about 6-8 feet at times

He was sat about six feet in front of me when I took the picture. I had several cubs running around playing while I sat taking photos.

It's such an amazing feeling when nature allows us an intimate look inside the beauty and lives of it's other creatures. Simple, but powerful. Thanks for sharing.
