Description
Here's something I started a few days ago to convince myself that I still got it in me.It's been a while since I posted anything Porcelain Princess related, even longer since I made an update on the actual damn story itself, but this character was actually mentioned once in the story, even though she was never mentioned by name.
Pull up a seat, kiddies, it's story time with Steve-O.
============================================================================
Mitsuko was a wild pawniard who was lost after a rival bisharp had slain her father in a trial by combat for dominance over her pack and commanded his coalition turn against Mitsuko and her siblings to "reunite" them with their father as the remaining adults of the pack stood idly, an act that, though considered cruel, is typical amongst the pawniard evolutionary line. She had fled the den with her life, making her way to the river where she was able to blend with the surrounding and hunker down until it was safe to leave. She was unsure how many of her siblings, if any, had escaped as well or if they had even survived. She was fairly certain that going back to find out would be a costly endeavor and so she simply walked away in detached grief and shame. Mitsuko was then found, captured, and habilitated by an engineer that she worked alongside at his job for some time. And in that time, a certain level of trust was formed between them and she swore that she would do her best to be a helpful partner for all the help he has done for her. That was the case until her trainer learned the true intent behind his company and the motives that they had. They were made aware of this realization and made the decision to cover up their tracks. In an effort to keep his partner safe, he released Mitsuko from his custody so that she would not be involved in the ensuing conflict, all while never mentioning or alluding to the reason for doing so.
Feeling betrayed, Mitsuko wandered aimlessly for days throughout the wilderness for a way to forget and move on, while holding onto the sense of emptiness that was born inside her. She inevitably found herself in need of sustenance in one way or another, and in her search, found conflict with other pokémon; whether it was out of competition over food or she wandered into another pokémon's territory by mistake. This would often result in Mitsuko either fleeing the encounter empty-clawed or, in some more dire circumstances, was the only one to walk away from it. Weeks had turned into months and months to years. The harsh wilderness, along with what she had already learned, has molded her into a capable lone nomadic survivor. She was quickly learning her place among the natural order and had even evolved, an especially tremendous feat for a solitary pawniard given that their evolutionary line are naturally committed pack-hunters. Yet, in spite of all she had accomplished on her own merits, she was no closer to filling the void that her old family and trainer left. Unaware of what this meant, she felt compelled to be a partner for at least one she could consider her equal. She was biologically hardwired for companionship, after all.
Mitsuko set out to explore one day and as she did, she was ambushed. Not by wild pokémon, but by humans with their own pokémon. Trainers that seemed to favor the use of steel-type pokémon, a trait all too familiar to her in a sense, and had clear intent behind their attack. She may well have been able to fend for herself, but someone came to her aid. A female pokémon ranger named Nicole along with her pachirisu partner, Sparky. Together, they made short work of the attackers and once it was over, Mitsuko collapsed from exhaustion. She came around to find herself in the hospitality of this ranger at a cabin in the forest and became weary. She was uncertain what this person wanted and gave harsh warnings for her to maintain her distance. Though Mitsuko felt less than convinced that she could truly trust this person, she knew that it was in her best interest to try to be cooperative with her if she was to find out why she was attacked. Nicole offered Mitsuko the opportunity to stay at her cabin for as long as she needed, to which she hesitantly accepted.
Mitsuko had lived with Nicole for a short period of time and found that this was shaping up to be a rather content life-style. She had a place to take refuge for the time being and would even assist Nicole on some of her missions. Being the hardened cynic she was, Mitsuko never let her guard down as she knew this feeling all too well before it came to an abrupt end. In spite of this, she could not help but ponder the thought that plagued her mind; perhaps this could be it... Then, a strange-looking fire-type pokémon came along one day, followed by a gardevoir not too long after. Mitsuko noticed that they seemed to have a history with each other, and not the best one judging by the way they interacted. None the less, they were both equally suspicious to her. Nicole had taken them in as guests, just as she had with Mitsuko a while ago. Of the few interactions they shared with each other, Mitsuko learned that these strangers have fought against people and pokémon involved with the ones she was attacked by. They, along with Nicole, followed up on clues that led them to investigate this group of people even further. As Mitsuko suspected, they were part of the company her old trainer worked for. Further investigation eventually led to Mitsuko learning the fate of her old trainer and his true reason for his apparent abandonment. Stricken with grief, she felt foolish and deeply ashamed for doubting his action and living in resentment. All this time she thought it was out of selfishness and cruelty when in actuality, it was to protect her life. She had discovered her new purpose. She was to avenge her trainer and stand by those who fight this corruption the way she knew how.
They did all eventually come to confront the core of their problem. The company was under the grasp of an ancient monster that had used its influence in order to obtain the leverage necessary to carry out its ambition to expand and lay waste to whatever environment it crosses. They were able to put a stop to it before it could fully manifest but at the cost of Nicole's life. Mourning aside, with nobody else to follow or anywhere else to go, Mitsuko and Sparky decided they would stay with the fire-type and the gardevoir at their homeland, where they took the reins and rebuild it in their image. A peaceful haven for its inhabitants.
Years had passed after the new establishment was ushered in and Mitsuko appointed herself to be the "royal bodyguard" as she figured that doing so meant that she would never be without excuse to let her aggressive side run wild. Having done so, she proved herself to be a very valuable asset, whether it was in defending the homeland or whenever her friends set out and she is there to go in headlong and take the brunt of the action, and acquire the scars to prove it to boot. Of course, things changed as her gardevoir friend had become a mother to an odd pink ralts and there came plenty of times where she would entrust Mitsuko to look after this child when her presence was needed elsewhere. Mitsuko found the task of looking after this ralts trivial and even downright insulting to her station, but looking after a newborn ralts proved to be no easy task even for her. With their instinctive tendency to wander about, one must keep a close eye on them at all times, lest they run the risk of getting themselves lost and/or in danger. Even though Mitsuko met her match, they did bond with each other, albeit, to differing degrees... Mitsuko continued to keep watch and protect the little pink ralts for many years to come until she was eventually mature enough to "sit her ass down and stay the f*ck still."
Mitsuko's current whereabouts are unknown.

Whoa... That was a mouthful. I feel kinda bad now. I never realized how much of a backstory I could've given Mitsuko up until I started typing it out.
That's right, Mitsuko was Sakura's nanny. Whatcha gonna do about it?
Recap: Mitsuko is a proud, rather introverted, borderline paranoid bisharp who tends to not let her emotions show, aside from her anger and passive-aggressive sarcasm. For the most part, she has a gritty, impulsive, aggressive outward personality and commonly expresses it through some "choice" words. This may also be the reason behind her ironic weakness (depending how you chose to view it) where she has difficulty working with others or following orders even when she tries to be cooperative. But somewhere deep beneath the surface, she does care for those around her, regardless of how willing she might be to admit that to herself. Though just as any other positive trait, does her best to not let it show if it can be helped. Prior to her departure from her original trainer, she was more or less a pacifist in the beginning. Now, if someone so much as looks at her or her friends the wrong way, she will get upright in their face and tear them a new one right before proceeding to beat them to a bloody pulp. Best babysitter ever!
She also wears green leather sheaths over her head and torso blades whenever she is not in combat as a means to avoid accidentally injuring someone. They were a given to her for this reason as a gift from Nicole: sta.sh/0284i5rdd241
Fun fact: Mitsuko is based on an actual bisharp of mine. As hard as this whole things is for even me to believe, what happened is I was trying to breed a pawniard back in Pokémon X with 5 IVs in all the right stats. I hatched 35 eggs and only two of those pawniards turned out to have those specific placements, and one of them was shiny.
After a damn near asphyxiation from screaming my stinkin' guts out, I was trying to figure out what to name her. I don't remember precisely how I came across this, but I found the name "Mitsuko" and learned that it was a Japanese female name that translated to "shining child" in English. Very fitting too since Bisharp's design is based on a samurai. Perfect! And now I draw'd her.
Hope you folks enjoyed the drawing and backstory!
