Description
No self respecting collection of Egyptian themed fractals would be complete without one of these! It might have been easier to do this in a 3D modelling package, but this was rendered entirely in Mandelbulb3D. I don't do "easy"!I'd had the idea for some time to try a pyramid, The breakthrough came through playing with the latest formula, the rest just fell into place. Thank you, Luca!!!!
The next challenge has already presented itself!

very cool - too bad non-seamless map has flaws

Thanks Luca! I have been working hard on creating my own seamless maps to deal with this issue. I worked out a way to write my own hieroglyphs and superimpose them on a stone block texture. The first maps repeated too often, so I made bigger maps with more variation, currently 5000 pix wide! I'm now thinking of increasing it to 20,000pix in order to map the entire face of theΒ pyramid with blocks and be able to carefully place the carvings. I will be posting new pyramids soon!!

Again, many thanks for looking by! =]

I think it would be not useful, I think bitmaps are resampled

Already constructed the map! To get the scale of the blocks correct. I made a 4X4 version of my wall texture, 13,000 x 10,000 pix and a massive 104Mb file! Downsized to 5000 and applied to my "The Curse" post. I think the detail had been retained.
Again thanks for the input, it's nice to chat with fellow fractaleers, especially one of your standing! Respect!

Excellent!
I'm amazed that you managed to produce this in mb3d.
Now we will see alot of mandelbulbers scratching their heads thinking "how did he do that? Maybe if I use these Formulas...hmm..."

Amazing work, never heard of mandelbulb3D. I looked on google and visited a few sites and saw the group on deviantart now too. Nice composition. I like the sand and the clouds.

Nice quote from the bible. I found don't worry. I work on autodesk maya. I tried zbrush and mudbox, but i am not use to those as much.

Great pyramid, one that was lost in the desert.
Happily did you found this one!
