Just looked at that movie on next flexs. Liked it never followed old anime or manga. A little confusing with the condensed plot ( feels like they where trying to pot the entire series in one show).Β

The movie is a Visual - Orgasm!! The plot serves as a tiny puzzle piece, that fits perfectly into Harlock's saga!

Amazing art! Did you use the Hot Toys figure to draw your Harlock? (I say that because I saw some photos of the Hot Toys Harlock with the same pose.)
Btw, I love your art!

Thank you for your nice comment! Ha, good eye! Yes, I used the Hot Toys figure as reference! Unfortunately, most people think I take a picture and draw over it.. Well, that's a technique I personally hate (and photobashing, grrr)!! I always fing a dynamic pose and draw the whole thing by looking at it!! Otherwise, It's just cheating
Ps: The Hot Toys picks were not that good.. For example, Harlock's hand and sword were so out of focus, that I had to improvise! Although I do it all the time, when I am pushing deadlines, improvisation can be a real pain! I'm glad that both look nice! I don't want to disappoint my clients!

No worry, I do the same. Drawing dynamic poses is easier with a reference pose...

I normaly don't use one (I have studied human anatomy )!! But when it comes to Illustrations, you have to inspect how light "hits" textures, in order to deliver a photorealistic look!! Unfortunately, I didn't have any latex reference when I drew my Harley Quinn (I only had the face of a cosplayer) so, Β I was "painting blind"! Experience helped me to pull this through (Thank God
)!!Β

I watched itΒ recently,Β in order to take some reference screenshots for this illustration..Β Despite the fact my brother is a 3d animator/modeler,Β I don't like 3d animation (except Toy Story 1 & FF Advent Children) so I didn't want to to watch this Captain Harlock 3d flick!! Thankfully, I was wrong!! The movie was AWESOME in soooo many levels!!!! ThanX again for your constant support Alex

My Ruskie friend, I have to admit your translations are insaaaane!!!! I am a guy that loves to hear musicΒ or watch moviesΒ from other countries, dispite the fact that I don't understand most of what's happening..! (For example this one:Β 5ivesta family - ΠΠ°ΡΠ΅ΠΌ, which is one of my favourite songs, just because it makes me feel happy, for some reason! ) So, I don't have problem watching something in a language I can't understand, if this something is done correctly and delivers a desent show! I watched "Wanted" in Russian (since my ex GF was Russian, I know, I had to submit
) so, there was a scene when Xavier smashed a keyboard in Starlords face and the Russian studio that had translated this, had made the Keyboard's letters sayng the "F" word, in Russian!!! It was beyond cool!!!!!! I gladly would watch any anime in Russian translation! I watched Getter Robo Armageddon in Italian (Without subs and I don't speak a word in Italian) and I have to say they did very good job!! So good, I understood most of what was going on!!! Check it
