Description
Is this a preview pic of the new live action Nightmare Before Christmas II: Oogey Boogey Beach Party? Are the skulls singing "It's Actually Really for Serious Ours This time!" in seven part harmony? Is that sad, jawless fellow playing backup cowbell?Sadly, no. That magnificent film was shelved in favor of "Dora the Explorer Meets the Care Bear Fellowship of the Rings" direct to DVD.
So then who is this mysterious figure? Zombie Hamlet? Darth Maul's albino brother? Alice Cooper in his shower robe?
I, of course, totally know. But if I told you, he'd lose all that wonderful mystery!
What I can tell you, is that the reference was shot on location. We snuck into Rush Limbaugh's giant "Cannibal Club" hot tub, while he was away devouring infants. The majority of the bones are from the tub, but curiously, there were no skulls. I think he may fill them with his copious excess bile, and offer them up in the dark rituals that must be how he conjured a career in the first place.
For Magic the Gathering. Copyright Wizards of the Coast. Art directed by Jeremy Jarvis.
Skulls provided by "Creepy Pete's No Questions Asked Cleaning and Disposal," a division of "Anything Goes Necro Supply" owned and operated by "Families, Traditional Values, Kittens, Puppies, and Candy for Orphans, a Nonprofit."

WOw, this is just amazing art. I disregarded the card when I saw it, but seeing it all big like this, it's made of cool.

Seriously, your art is awesome, but did you ever consider becoming a writer? Cause you definitely got talent on that area as wellXD

hasn't the card been spoiled already? one of the coolest cards in the set for sure. and the art certainly helps set it appart.

A curious question:
Did you use a 3D program to map out the skulls before painting, or are you just that "bad-ass"?

Its a really cool but I am not going to lie your skulls and bones even start setting up patterns of three almost. XD I know i am being anal but the skull orbital does not look natural to me, I mean literally only one skull is pointed left while all the others point right, then the rib cages are about the same angle in a short distance, then three huge bones in the front row are pointed the same exact angle right next to each other. Ahhhhhh sorry I love the concept and execution however those re occurring patterns rub me the wrong way.

the one thing that bugged me was that the front two skulls are missing the exact same teeth! (except one) , kinda distracting once you notice it.
apart from that it's a great piece.

Those upper arms are so attractive. I just want to squeeze them.
On another note, this is awesome! I am a necromancer in Guild Wars 2... So I really appreciate this!

Actually no. It's still in a cast. I painted this in January, it's just that I can't show things until they've been published.

Great piece dude!
This one really stood out in the released cards to far.
But you should actually listen to Limbaugh before you use him as a foil. I hated him because people told me to hate him, after I decided to find out for myself what the big deal was about 6 years ago I discovered the guy was not only a genius but right 99% of the time...and still is.

Rush Limbaugh a genius?! Now I've heard everything. The man is a half deaf imbecile due to popping so many pain pills illegally that the ototoxic Tylenol and opiods in the pills have permanently damaged his hearing. Meanwhile the hypocritical imbecile drones on an and on about how "them there druggies are such bad and evil people." I mean do you have any idea just how many fist fulls of those things you have to gobble down to reach the point it actually permanently damages your hearing? We are talking Kirk Cobain levels of opiods here, literally thousands of pills taken at doses MANY times that which is indicated by any doctor.
I mean seriously, the man actually managed to mess up being a junky. Ten minutes of googling and he could have figured out a way to remove the tylenol from the pills and at least saved his hearing and liver if not his reputation and self respect. I'm not one to make fun a junky for being a junky, but its the hypocritical nature of the man that I find so abhorrent in addition to his blatant ignorance. I mean seriously sit down and listen to him shouting for an hour (because he literally can barely hear himself) and then look up everything he as claimed as fact in that amount of time. Generally at least half of his provable and disprovable claims (that which aren't outright opinions) are factually wrong. Seriously, fact check one hour of the man's broadcast picked at random some day.

I had to listen to him every day at one of my old jobs. Granted, that was many years ago, but the irritation of all that has not faded. It's mostly his absolutism that I can't stand. If it makes you feel better, I could have just as easily used Keith Olberman.
Still, I should know better than to take cheap shots at anything related to politics. Just means I'll piss off half the people.

Well, you can count me out of that half my man; I don't get bothered by people expressing political opinions, if I did I'd have a miserable life since I'm called a racist, sexist, homophobe and extremist daily by some fool in the press or mainstream media just about everyday because I'm a conservative.
Hell, I've got a ton of dyed in the wool libs as friends. We just agree to disagree and go about enjoying eachother, as it should be.
I can't agree with the Rush/Olberman comparison, however. Thats like an Einstein/Manson equivalent in my book.
Anyway, the piece:
You really put this together so well, dude it feels like your materials are getting better and better (something I'm trying to improve on), as well as your compositions.
This work really stood out in my humble opinion, it's nice to see you release it, I saw this on the official site and was looking forward to seeing it in a bigger format.
Anyhoo, take care man
