Description To me, magic is the fantasy fiction equivalent of science. I'm not sure I can state this more fervently. I love science. I love technology. I love ingenuity and engineering. I would love it physically if it were possible, and I have faith that once again, science herself will deliver that miracle.

Feel free to picture me in a cheerleader outfit with the pi symbol across my overstuffed chest.

"Trinketeering for a better future!"

However, Nevinyrral's Disk has shown me that perhaps there is a call for moderation in even the awesomest things. The Disk is essentially a conveniently sized universe eraser button cleverly formulated to expunge all of God's unfair oversights. As a proud member of those oversights, I feel Nevy's Disk may have crossed the line of propriety in advancing arcane knowledge.

For Magic: the Gathering. Copyright Wizards of the Coast. Art directed by Jeremy Jarvis.

Apologies to the universe that was imploded to get reference photos.

(Check out the first sketch I sent into Wizards for Nevy's Disk. While it conveyed the purpose and power of the Disk, it seems it was slightly off in terms of flavor...) [link]

Oh, I suppose eventually I had enough practice that an art director gave me a shot. That was Legend of the Five Rings. Since then, everything has just grown. And Magic is nice enough to put up with me and my arty shenanigans.

Your arty shenanigans are good though. Where did the art director find you? Did he see your website or something?

The first art director, I got in contact with through email. For Magic, I met the art director at Gen Con a few years ago. It's always going to be best to get to know them in person.

These are things to know, when I have art worth paying for and what not. It's been a dream in the back of my mind to draw card images. It took a back seat but is back at the forefront.

Yeah, it's not something you think of immediately in terms of being a working artist: Make friends. People have a lot of choices in artists, it doesn't hurt for them to remember you as a nice guy to boot.

Makes sense. Hey... remember me as a good guy? Hahaha.

Looks fantastic, of course. Especially the texture on the hand.
