actually the greatest advice I have since I am a game designer is....make a game, design a level or game map, or even a mod. It was the advice given me so I pass it to you. Or join an incubator.

Instead of Demo reel may I suggest a short movie, in Sourcefilmmaker. Your characters caught up in some epic struggle and some dynamic fight scenes.
