*Edit* Thank you so much for the DD!Oil on Canvas of a Grackle in a stream. 24"x36"
The funny thing about this painting is I went to the Fort Worth Zoo to get some animal shots for potential paintings and as I was walking into the zoo I saw this grackle sitting there. I took the shot and out of all the photos I took while in the zoo,(which was probably around 80) this is the one I painted.

Thank you, well I didn't work on this painting all at once. I usually work with 3-5 at once. Breaks up the grind and keeps things fresh.

Strange to say that it isn't always the large exotic animals that might catch one's attention, but the ones we see every day that sometimes have the most impact. It must have been the lighting, the shadows and water reflections that brought out something totally unexpected in this bird and the scene. It is beautiful in its simplicity. Well done!
