Description
A dangerous shot - The picture shows part of a rocky outcrop that extends from the shoreline quite far into the sea until you reach a point where there is a shear drop. I know the area quite well and can only be accessed at low tide.
I had this shot planned for a long time. Three parameters had to come into play to pull this off 1) it must be at sunset, 2) it had to be at low tide with the tide on its way back into shore and 3) it had to be stormy ie large waves and high winds otherwise the shot would look dead.
The shot was taken from a very low angle and the wind was about 80 miles an hour. To the right (out of shot) was another rock protecting me from most of the spray. The rock in the top left of the photo there was a much bigger one behind it which was getting the full impact of the battering from the waves. Without this barrier the shot would of been impossible to do.

Anyway it worked to plan...the waves hit the barrier then cascaded over the rock (top left) then ran down towards my camera.
