Yeah, i was hopping to see Smaug be a badass and work together with the Orcs, but I guess they had to advance the plot a little bit faster

Yeah.. i did want smaug to work with the orcs as well so that way he does have more lines and more screen time then ever and have him face bard in the battle of the fave armies war. But because it happened in the book, smaug dies in the begining of the movie when he attack laketown. with his last lines ever. Thats what i was afraid of last year.

At least Peter Jackson stayed true to the book, which is nice. Though he could have at least stretched it out to like a battle against the guards of Lake town, for like 10 more minutes. I really find Smaug a more compelling villain than the Orcs, so it's sad that I can't see him in the movie a little while longer

he is in fact the goblins (which were the orcs in the book) didn't have much to go by in the hobbit. it was capture and war. that's it. they try to give a backstory to azog for which builds up te tension of struggle between him ad thorin. but like in the book he isn't as great as smaug. for smaug like in the book was more focused on because that was there goal all along. sure the war was after smaugs death but I think in many peoples psyche ( though I could be very wrong about this) we forget that very last part in the book. and just skip it because we all ended it when smaug dies. for smaug was the whole goal all along in the book. now peter Jackson wanted to do the whole prequel to lotr for like in this pic they build up to the original trilogy by making the battle of the five armies with orcs and wargs. however smaug is much better and unique and for in fact you could say he is the bases of all dragons. and the first ever dragon we ever met in fiction to many. so when we saw him it was like a a dream come true to many to see him how he was like and what peter done for him. if only like hehas done with azog and bolge. ( for bolge was the one to lead the army and not azog for he died in past in book) could he have done with smaug staying in just a big longer to show smaug in all his glory

Truer words have never been spoken! I mean, Peter Jackson already gave us massive battles in the original LOTR, so he really didn't have do the same thing in the prequels. Now, Smaug was a completely different villain and that was what got me so excited! Like the second Hobbit movie was by far my favourite because of Smaug. Also Benedict Cumberbatch did a killer job in the voice acting! While the Orcs were just generic swarm monsters, and they were just there for the giant battles only

th second was my fav to. same reasons as you. and who knew he would be a wyvern. which was awesome. and your rght orcs were just generic swarm monsters as azog was just the big brute leader. (although an ok one compare to the other big brute leaders I have seen. and also a smart one at that I will give him credit for ). but the fact remains benedict cumberbatch smaug is way better then the orcs I every way. LONG LIVE SMAUG!!! lol

ALL HAIL SMAUG! FOR HE IS FIRE! FOR HE IS... DEATH! (Also I think wyverns are way cooler than the six limbed dragons since they make much more sense biologically  )
