Dearest daughter lent her photoshopping skills to create a contrasting black background. I'll sit with this for a while and decide whether to do it for real!Breaking news: the black background is permanent. A very good decision.

The colours on this are just gorgeous. The white and blue used in those wide eyes create a wonderful contrast with all the other warm colours.
And you were right to stick with the black background as having a similar scheme for the background would have been too much.

Just draw really. The face emerged from my subconscious, though used a photo of myself to help me understand where to shade, etc. I think it would probably be better to use a reference image. Thanks for the fave and the positive comments

well this is excellent...lots of patience i imagine...as a personal preference i'd have liked a background in a similar style, perhaps circles to differentiate from the squares. but thats just me. great work!!. im off to see some more of your stuff x

Awesome use of color. It has a very ancient/tribal quality to it. I think i like the black background better, i feel it makes the image "pop".
