Description Fantasy sci-fi image, created using Zbrush. modo and Photoshop. The ships are from a previoius project (see gallery!) where I re-imagined the Liberator from the BBC's Blakes 7.

Zbrush can do the GoZ thing with modo, and that works quite well. Modo's renderer is pretty good I think, up there with the best as far as I can tell, check out the galleries at luxology.com to get a feel for it. A lot of modo users will use Zbrush as well in a far more professional way than I so worth having a peruse of the forums there as well (but ignore the Adobe CC thread unless you are very very bored Lol!)

Let me know if there is anything I can help with, I'm a hobbyist but I will certainly try to answer any questions!

Thanks for the input. I'm a hobbiest as well. I started in lightwave and now have Blender, but haven't invested much time into it. I believe that Modo was created by the same group of people who created Lightwave and noticed that the price is comparably the same. I emailed the support group for Lightwave and tried to find out what paths to take in getting the educational discount. Looks like i will be enrolling in college again and studying 3d design... Yippie!!!

Awesome - v.jealous - would love to enrol in a 3d course! Yes Luxology was started by some of the Lightwave gang - Brad Peebler eta al - they are all still there. Luxology is owned by The Foundry as of recently - so good things a foot I hope (hopefully pricing will stay the same for us 3d hobbyists!)

Thank you! I did plan originally on having waves in the water, but it really detracted from the sense of scale and the smoother water with the diffuse reflections really added something as well.

oww, I understand yep, but I think that waves were not necessary, so that's perfect to me !
And you're welcome !

Really lovely picture overall! One of the best details is the little boats in the water. That adds such a real emotion and idea of peace below and war above. Very nice.
