This took me about two weeks to do. The artwork of course belongs to ... I suck at actual fanart so I'm doing this instead. I hope she appreciates being the only furry artist with her own honest-to-Dog Winamp skin! And now all you Shayde fans can always have your favorite wolfie looking at you when you play music. Took me forever to figure out how to skin the Library window, and even longer to actually make it look right.EDIT 01/23/2007: Originally uploaded this to Miscellaneous with an off-site link in the description because dA's category rules didn't like skins based on a single large image. But the apparently-new "Fan Skins" category doesn't include that restriction, so here it is, for the first time in the proper category! Click "Download" to get!

This gives me such a massive nostalgia. Used to have this skin on my Winamp back in the days.... In 2005....
Haven't used Winamp in years now. But this is a high-quality work till this day! Looks still awesome.

There's a tutorial on the Winamp website, but the basic process is drawing the skin in some graphics program, including different versions of things (like the volume/equalizer sliders at different positions), breaking it up into chunks in bitmap images, and sticking them in a ZIP file.

Heh, I barely even use Winamp anymore. If it's furry player skins you're looking for, my first suggestion would be to ask on the FurAffinity forums. Their dA-clone main site doesn't have support for such files, but someone on their forum might know someone who made some.

All you have to do, once you've installed Winamp itself, is double-click the .wsz file and it will automatically install into Winamp and be set as the current skin.

Well, which one? I could make a tutorial, but it would take ages to do. Making Winamp skins is a lot of work, or at least it is the way I do it. But I might be willing to take a request, depending on what you're looking for. Note me if you're interested.

A picture skin is a skin that has one picture or image spanning a large section of the skin, drawing attention to the image, rather than the program, or skin itself. Skinning is an art that takes a program and redecorates it, not an art that just throws a sheet over it, so to speak, no matter how pretty you think the sheet is.
Granted, I think the effort I put into the rest would be enough to qualify as an exception but I don't wanna chance it. Shayde herself once got something deleted (reported, she figured, by someone who had something against her) because it included a very short clip from a song, even though no normal person could have recognized the song from the clip. I figure better safe than sorry.

I do think it's stupid that they're such sticklers for quality when it comes to skins, especially when they could care less about how well-drawn a piece of artwork is! But there's not much I can do about it, and besides, being able to put stuff in the category you want is overrated.

well, anyways... it's kinda obvious I don't really agree with dA's submission category policies... considering that they don't even have proper categories for most of the art I submit, I think it's pretty unreasonable for them to be so tight-assed strict about it...

Winamp Classic skins will work on any version from 2.0 up. Winamp3 refuses to skin the playlist window, but 5.0 and higher will.
