I wish that you could use the effect of arcane helmets while keeping the original helmet. I have loki prime, and while I like the way my arcane swindle looks, I like loki prime's helmet much better.

if only we could apply the abilities to the helmets ourselves. it makes no sense to completely abandon the idea of having the corrupted mod status on them.

Well, some of the stat helms sucked. See Vauban class helms, Thrak Rhino, and so on and so forth. Community whined a bit, and this is what DE came up with...
