i used to feel like that a lot too? ? ? like i wouldn't draw very interesting poses!! i find that just brainstorming cute ideas really helps! and like finding objects or activities and placing the characters in them. (eg. tobogganing, a HAMMOCK, a playground idk)
like yesterday i was literally sitting on the toilet peeing, and i was looking at my bathtub and i thought of john sitting in there aND THEN IT HIT ME
you just gotta literally think of rly cute and cheesy shit AND TRY YOUR BEST TO DRAW IT!!
the pose wasn't too hard actually!! i usually find that if i'm having a lot of troubles with a pose early on in the drawing, its either not gonna work at all or it will take me a RIDICULOUSLY long time to fix it
also i used a ref for part of the drawing! i needed a ref for like how john was lying/where to place his arms and from there adding rose was pretty easy once i established like the 3d-ness of the bathtub (:
