also, great art, great to see an advanced escort, the only ship type id run back when i played STO, although mine was a bastard configuration between the Cerberus-, Hephaestus- and Prometheus-class starships together 
btw, do you make these fully hand drawn or painted over a 3d captured image as base? (for general lighting and perspective etc).

The Prometheus is a great ship, it's a pity we haven't seen so much of it in Voyager, but that's also logical. I'm still hoping for a new (post-)TNG-era series someday!
I only design the backgrounds (that is, planets, nebulas, etc. etc.). Unfortunately I have no clue how to use those 3D-programs, so I have to use ships from other images (which I then credit), and usually I slightly edit the ships. In this case, I tried adding some additional shadow / lighting on the Intrepid class, and I edited the colour balance on both (more blue-cyanish), using Photoshop.

I think every trek fan hopes for a new quality series that continues the timeline properly in some fashion by now
