Description

Helori  is Neil's big brother, so I advise you to read his story first, but in general it is not necessary to do so to understand Neil's story.

Following Helori 's escape, the United States became the laughingstock of the most developed countries. The president therefore hired the greatest expert in cyber technology coming straight from Japan, to design the successor to Helori: CPR (Cataclysm Protection Robot) alias Neil.

With a name taken from the nation's hero Neil Armstrong, meaning "young champion", and a design inspired by superheroes, we understand that the goal was to send a strong message to the rest of the world to make people forget the previous failure. Unlike Helori, Neil is intended to be used more rarely, only in cases of force majeure, and to fight against terrorism. It is therefore made of a more resistant and light metal alloy, its tentacles allow it to pick locks and infiltrate discreetly* in buildings taken in hostage. For the same purpose of discretion, he has a dozen Spyders, miniature spy robots. He is also able to accumulate a large amount of energy to launch a ball of lightning. But he cannot use it often because it drastically reduces his energy reserves, and puts him at risk of overheating. To prevent him from escaping the military's control, he was not designed to have feelings, has no internet access, is only allowed out of the lab at night, and to avoid that he does not discuss the orders he is mute. Nevertheless, he has a great capacity for learning which allows him to adapt quickly to any situation, and which makes him very curious.

*As discreet as a 2 meter high robot can be

His first mission was to kill Mike Schmidt, leader of a terrorist organization, who was planning to blow up the Pentagon. He therefore went to the place of residence of the target, and infiltrated the house in which the Schmidt family was. But when he found his target, he begged him to spare his in exchange for not publishing his controversial article about the president. Neil understood that the army had lied to him, that the objective was not to eliminate a terrorist but a journalist holding compromising information. The journalist having promised not to write an article, he deemed it unnecessary to kill him, and returned to the base. A few days later, the compromising information made the headlines of all the newspapers, even adding that the president had tried to have the journalist holding it assassinated. The general therefore learned that he had not followed orders, and threatened to deactivate him if he tried again.

Once again he was called in to arrest a terrorist, but this time if at the White House. Once there, he saw not a human being but a robot. Both seemed surprised by this meeting, after several seconds of silence Helori introduced himself and asked his name, which he could not answer of course. Once the shock of the discovery passed, Neil attacked Helori and easily defeated his. But before he delivered the coup de grace, he received the order not to destroy it because the army wanted to recover its spare parts, so he threw it outside the white house. Once back at the base, he was reprimanded for not knocking out Helori, which giving him time to flee before the soldiers arrived.

A few days later, Helori attacked the military base to "save his brother". Once again, Neil had to confront Helori, with orders to destroy him by any means possible. But this time, Helori didn't defend himself, he preferred to talk to Neil. He tells his that a sentient creature should be able to express their feelings and be free to choose. That he's exploited, and that fight doesn't even get anywhere. Neil calmed down and stopped hitting him, which is when Helori offered to run away together, and live somewhere better for him. Neil was confused, no one had ever thought of him that way, and this was the first time he could decide his fate. The proposal seemed attractive to him, but he knew that the army would eventually find them, and that hiding with a terrorist was not a good solution. He then went back to hitting Helori, and took the opportunity to discreetly hang a Spyder on his. Then he launched a ball of lightning, pretending to miss Helori and destroying the wall next to him. He then went to sleep due to lack of energy, allowing Helori to flee. He was not reprimanded for this as the only people who saw the scene were the surveillance videos, and concluded that Helori had dodged the attack on his own, and that Neil had only been following orders.

One night, when there was no one in the base, Neil went out and followed the Spyder's trail to find Helori. Once in front of his house, he settled in the garden, looking inside hidden in a bush, to find out what the world had "better" to offer him. There he saw a close-knit and loving family, where mistakes led to collective laughter, and who treated Helori indiscriminately with their children. He would have liked to be able to enter, but he had to go back to base. Even today, he sometimes comes to spy on the family, hoping one day to be part of it.

Neil's story is more serious and longer than Helori's, but anyway no one reads the descriptions, so I doing what I want
