Short Story

The war began not with Megatron's rise to power, but with Megatronus Prime's downfall. Solus Prime's murder was the first crime to have ever happened in Cybertron's recorded history and has gone down as the worst since. Consequences were steep, effecting not just the remaining thirteen but their progeny as well. Oh, their children were the most influenced. They were tainted by it, you see. A bad influence on young children. Megatronus Prime's lapse in judgement poisoned what was supposed to be a peaceful race, but after that, everyone took sides. Anyone who didn't simply left. The Great War broke out and hasn't stopped since.

Well.

Until now.

Optimus began to understand why medics have such color sensitive optics. A sea of black grey husks had greeted him upon the conclusion of Cybertron's last battle of the war. This is what peace looked like. Greyed out corpses drained of color once their sparks were snuffed out. He was the only one among what he assumed were thousands who was still alive. Who still had color.

He let his battle mask slide back.

The air tasted stale and bitter from the acidic smell of spilled energon.

He frowned and pulled his mask back on.

Deep in his chest, the Allspark glowed over what remained of the Matrix. Most of his inherited artifact's power had been lost ensuring this was would be the battle that would end his planet's war. Megatron was defeated, though not dead. Instead forcefully reverted to his protoform state just as he would have been when fresh from the Well. Mind, body and spark freed from the Dark Energon's toxicity and from the poison of his own power trip. Optimus's brother would get to start again.

Turning his helm eastward, Optimus caught another hopeful sight. Cybertron's sun rose from the horizon for the first time in eons. Its orbit had finally corrected itself after the planet had been unable to function properly due to the war's devastation. His home was repairing itself at last. Light from the blue white dwarf covered the lifeless frames, gleaming hotly off of dead metal.

Optimus smiled.

The Primes had finally overstayed their welcome and it was time for him to join his forefathers. The Allspark he carried within his chest could not be removed as it was merged with his own being. His death would be painless and would return life to the literal trillions who had lost their lives in the eons of war. Optimus Prime's death would signal their rebirth.

Walking towards the sun, Optimus walked through the sea of death to bring back the life everyone deserved.

Edit: The idea behind this song was about the final battle of the war in an AU where Solus Prime's murder was what started the war. The Allspark was never ejected into space and Earth was never a factor at all. Almost all the fighting stayed on Cybertron and after eons a population of literal trillions was whittled down to just a few thousand. Optimus decided to make the ultimate sacrifice to end the fighting once and for all, reformatting Megatron and taking the Allspark into his own being. Now with the fighting finally stopped, he makes a grueling and emotional journey across the Rust Sea to the Well so he can rejoin it and the Allspark so that life can begin anew upon his death.

Soooo, basically a retelling of the leap of fate Prime took at the end of Predacons Rising. XD

Final piece! Not too much was done, just note editing on the drums and some sound adjustments for the softer tones. Exported and converted at the highest quality possible! Aaand dnother small edit to get the poly drones working the way I want them to. XP
