Yeah... I felt that I had to make a stamp like this because this is really how I feel, and I couldn't find a stamp like it. I don't think Digimon is a rip-off of Pokemon, I honestly like both of them. Feel free to use this here on dA if don't think Digimon is a rip-off of Pokemon, I won't hunt you down if you don't comment on this or favorite this if you use it.That being said, please don't start any arguments in the comments, otherwise, I'll disable commenting. Anyway, use this if you want, I don't have a problem with that.
Oh, and those of you that don't know how to use stamps, (although I think many of you know how to use them), if you have a PM, you can copy the thumb and paste it into your journal or if you use a custom widget for that, paste it there. That's all you have to do.

FINALLY I find a stamp like this. Thank you! I was actually going to make one of my own because I haven't seen one around (until now).
Personally, I'm a Digimon fan. So I get really annoyed when Pokemon-only fans start bashing Digimon and calling it a rip-off and copy. Truth be told, Digimon is NOT copied from Pokemon. If people actually did their research into the subject they would find that Digimon was actually a keychain virtual pet first, similar in ways to the Tamagotchi. And it was released here in America a year before Pokemon ever reached American shores. So anyone's 'Digimon is a rip-off of Pokemon' arguments are actually invalid. They should be hollering that it's a Tamagotchi rip-off, since that's basically what it was back in the day before the anime series was introduced. It was Bandai's jump on the virtual pet bandwagon back in the 90's, just like Giga Pets was Tiger's bandwagon jump. Although the Digimon virtual pet was originally targeted at boys and was one of the more unique ones since the devices could be 'linked' together so that the owners could battle their monsters.
Not only that, but the anime itself is totally different from Pokemon in a number of ways. Anyone who's seen both series would know that. If anyone complains about Digimon being a rip-off then it's clearly obvious that they have never watched the show.

My thoughts exactly. I will never understand why fans have to always take sides and then bash the one they refuse to be a part of. I can understand liking one and not the other if one of them just isnβt your thing and doesnβt appeal to you (after youβve tried it out, of course, and formed honest opinions). But to outright bash and hate a series and its fans is just pointless and ridiculous. I like Digimon far better than Pokemon, but Iβm not gonna bash Pokemon or its fans. I was a Pokemon fan at one time before I got into Digimon. So I respect both, even though Iβm not into Pokemon anymore.

Again every thing you just said goes for me to (except for the team rocket part I really dislike them so I watched it more for the pokemon information) oh and I don't mind Mimi that much and your right the pokemon story really is lacking some aspects but the digimon story that's got a great story great characters even great villains! (Armagedimon being my fav) and the link between the human and digimon makes it even better!!

I honestly people REALLY need to shut up about what-ripped-off-what (not just about pokemon vs Digimon, but many other things) because in all honesty
1. Monster training is a GENRE. Just like Magical girl genre (which I like) and Mecha etc. Some are just more popular than others.
2. The whole similarities in designs show that certain creatures in franchises are based on a similar creature from folklore (eg. Ninetales and Kyuubimon- both are based on the Kitsune. Same with the Kyuubi in Naruto and (my personal fave villian kitsune) Ninetails from Okami.)
3. To quote a good friend of mine 'Great minds think alike, so don't be surprised about similarities'
