Like most Naruto geeks I have sketched around a few ideas of what I would do if I could create a Naruto ninja or ninja clan, and with the recent surge in Naruto Love over at entervoid forums I decided to put this sucker down. His back story is gonna be copy pasted from the forum thread so if it sounds like I am answering a question that was never asked then it is because of that.

MUI-OA

Hes obviously of the hidden village of sand, he is from a clan that are specialists in sand manipulation. They train vigorously to attain the power over sand that Garaa weilds inately. Miu is a chunin ninja who is attempting to reach the pinacle of the three master styles of his clan, (the three are sand clone mastery, using sand clones like puppateers, with chakra traps and all, 2 using the armor of sand, but unlike garaa whos body is simply covered and slowed down by it, they use glass that has been condensed and holded by their chakra (the studs on mius elbows and knees), as ankerpoints so that using the sand and their chakra they can increase their speed/strenth. Also using it to mold larger armored limbs weapons tentacles ect.. and the third wich is a balance of the two.)

Ah the gourd that is somethin I wish I had had time to explain before. Miu totally idolizes Garaa, I was gonna put the character on garras head big on the back of the gourd but wussed out on doin a complicated caracter on such a curvy surface. *****SPOILER ALERT**********
And since Garaa became Kazecage I would figure it would be kinda trendy for sand manipulators to be sportin the gourd*******spoiler alert end******* and since the gourd is made of sand it can be anyshape he wants at the time as well as portions or all of it disapear depending on how much sand his current jutsu is using.

Kankouro or what evere Garaa's older brothers name is spelt like only has face paint, and the older characters the recently met in the manga have nothing covering their face either. Also the clan he is from is loyal to the sand but lives out side the hidden village in the desert as a nomadic tribe type of deal. Anywhere they go anything they need they learn through the elments harsh training and nessecity to aquire or creat using their sand.

Finally because of the nature of their jutsu being that of physical combat (either with specialized sand clones or through the advanced armor of sand) they are hand to hand specialists. This genrally leads to a weakness against genjutsu and illusionary techniques so when facing theese types of techniques he pulls down his forehead protecter and fights by sound smell and touch alone. It is an imperfect solution to the problem but hey they gotta have a weakness. So ya like sasuke, kakashi, and itachi are the worst possible matches for this guy. People like kiba, kankurou, and to a lesser etent neji are better matches for him.
