Wait, the description says that you copied this from the TinmanCreative Facebook page? What does that mean exactly? Were you just inspired by a Samus drawing of theirs and made your own? Is this traced?Β I'm just wondering. Please don't take my words the wrong way.Β
Anywhosers, I love the pose and art style here. I feel like human ankles aren't supposed to bend like that, but I don't really care. This looks good even with that..Β

Haha looking at it now I was very unclear. What happened was that Tindraws had a Drawing Jam with the subject being Samus Aran. I wanted to draw Samus too so I copied their theme. So no there wasn't any tracing or using someone elses drawing as reference just a bunch of people jamming out on some Metroid love You can see the gallery of what the guys over there came up with hmyaΒ www.facebook.com/pg/TinmanCreaβ¦
Yeah I am breaking a few joints to make the pose work but when it came between having it be more dynamic of proper anatomy I went for more dynamic

Yeah, I can agree with that decision to prioritize dynamic posing.Β
Thank you for the clarification on the Tindraws thing!Β

Okay, ignore that question. I just looked through the Facebook's Metroid artwork, and this clearly isn't copied. I was just confused by the way that the sentence in the description was phrased. My mistake.Β

Awesome! Reminds me of the Scud: Disposable Assassin comic, but better I think.

Yeah I sketched it this way and then started to draw it with proper proportions and such and it became boring so I went with what I thought looked cooler

What do you mean proper proportions boring? This one has proper proportions too, just foreshortened to the oblivion!

Haha well that is what I mean, proper proportions are not in and of themselves boring but with this drawing when I was sketching it I went back and changed it so that the knee, pelvis, and torso to pelvis twist were more inΒ line with what an actual human body could do and it lost a bunch of the force and direction to the drawing. Which I don't think is a bad thing, but if some one says the proportions are off they are not wrong about that so I am just owning up to liking it better having been, as you put it, foreshortened into oblivion Β

Well, complaining about proportions in your drawing is like having a problem with cartoons being unrealistic. That's the point, so its only a matter of taste, because quality is on point.
