I mean...think about it. What if Doom guy is really just Kratos in the Christian Mythology setting in the far flung future because he was busy taking on the other pantheons of mythology. I mean they have so much in common. A badarse guy whose been to hell fights off all kinds of nightmarish creators both small and larger than life. Using powerful & deadly weapons and magical energies with abilities to be even more badarse. Draws strength from his rage and the blood of his enemies. The Ancient text describes Doomslayer, "And they would taste the bite of his sword." which could be a nod to the Blades of Chaos!
