The people in forground blend into scene to the point of being lost , they should be as noticeable as the ships above them. Other than that its pretty good.

yeh, i would have liked to have been more careful with this shot, but waiting for the raid made me really edgy, plus i managed to seat the camera tripod in some kind of animal droppings, i was wiping it off when the alarms went and i had to take the shot as quick as i could. Burns there on the right seemed to think he could bring down the Dragoon with just his P6, but Mako was more realistic about it and got well down behind the buggy there. chickenshit

i admit that when they hit the MBQ i just ducked and reached for the shutter, i'm no hero.

The scene is splendid!

The trees are pretty good. Foliage is really hard to do - unless you use Vue Infinite - trees always look a little flat. You've done splendid job, though!

ahh. i made me a tree generator using a blend of c4d's scripting and deformations and animation. then i judiciously scattered em around.
took a while to get the lighting anywhere near real cos theyre all just flat planes. they are the AFFstranjforrestry.utx pack from our UT test map, VCTF-KamovTestRange

I think this image is a real turning point in your work (and all the AFF crew). You're starting to combine elements together and making images that realy work. A ship against a nebula is all well and good since no one has experienced that firsthand but people know what a forrest looks like and know what it's like to have a plane go roaring over head and this really captures that feeling. Excellent work!

yeh well everything in that scene is game grade. the trees are from a pack i made fot UT2004, as are the rocks, most of the ground textures and grass, also the sandbags.

the buggy model is a bit ugly atm cos of the quick texjob i gave it (its a week-old addition to our model archive) but again, its game ready at about 2k polies. the gunship is a UT-Only model at about 3k, and the dropship is actually a homeworld model beefed up a bit. The character model is sadly the only one we have atm but he's a beaut, made by Deathwish (Kris Wood).

all models are bespoke to our modding collective and nothing here was taken from stock. i try and prettify things as much as i can but you can see that at heart the models are from games. the renderer is Cinema 4D and took about an hour on a G5 2x2ghz with 2gb ram (2500 x 1500 px initial render - lots of tweaks in photoshop... the missile trails for example are rendered seperately with c4d's pyrocluster then just jammed in there with photoshop)

nice scene, but one problem with the ships.... where the hell is motion blur? they look to me like they are static... there is some things to imply that they are moving, but when i look at the ships.... they look really unmoving.

Really good, I particulary admire the second flying ship coming toward us, the sun effect added on it, plus the motion and good texture, gave it a REAL COMPLEXITY, like a picture. I guess it is the best part around the whole scenary ( tought the other parts are great as well, but they yet hold those 3D "game-ish" texture styles ), but it is also curious to notice your fast evolution, each work on. O_O
