Wishing for his son to come home.
He's off fighting in another country
To keep people safe there and here.
Mr. Dean might raise his voice a lot,
But I've caught him staring sadly
At a picture of his son, whispering
"Come home soon... that's an order."

Oh look, there goes another one!
Now that's gotta be old Ms. Karr
Wishing to find another stray cat.
I know, you think she's a whacko;
Tell you what though, that whacko
Is happier and surrounded by more love
Than a lot of people I've known.

And over on the right, your Uncle Tim
Is making a wish for his favorite team
To win this year's Super Bowl... heh heh.
That team has never even made it once,
But you know, your uncle has wished for it
At the start of every football season
For the last forty-one years; that, my son,
Is what faith and determination look like.

What? You want another? Alright mister,
I hope you know how lucky you are.
This would've been where my dad
Sent me to bed with no dessert
And unplugged my TV for being
"A pesky, ungrateful luck-pusher."

That wish belongs to a special mom,
The best mom in the history of ever.
Every night she wishes for the same thing:
A fun, happy future full of success
For a bright, silly, precious little boy
She misses more and more every day.

...Yep, angels can wish upon stars too.

I... bet if you wish really hard right now,
She'll come visit you in your dreams tonight.
...Well, just because it didn't work before
Doesn't mean it won't work this time.
