Description Rick, the adventure core:
"You know what I hope's in space? Fire. I hope you go to space and catch on fire"
I love Space Core as much as the next Portal 2 fan (in other words, a lot), but Rick made me laugh way too hard with that line.

Bla Bla Bla Portal 2 Wheatley Space Core Rick not mine Bla Bla Bla Valve.

FACT: Fire cannot exist in the void of space. FACT.

#1. There is no oxygen in space so fire can not exist
#2. Wheatly does not have a mouth so he can't blow it out XD

PokePastaGHOST [2014-03-14 03:55:37 +0000 UTC]

Fact: The instance of fire in space is impossible by the laws of physics because a fire cannot burn without oxygen.

This is what happened when Space Core tryed to touch a star.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 0

Fish-okay [2012-01-09 00:22:30 +0000 UTC]

Incorrect. Stars are atomic fireballs. Thus, fire can exist.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

StrangersLight In reply to Fish-okay [2012-01-12 16:00:00 +0000 UTC]

I didn't mean space as in everything outside of the earth's atmosphere. I was talking about the vacumey, non gravity part where there are no gasses. Stars have gasses that allow fire to exist. Unless space core brought a tank of gas with him, he should not be on fire right now

Fish-okay In reply to StrangersLight [2012-01-13 23:52:42 +0000 UTC]

I know, I was just joking around.

Slartybardfast In reply to Fish-okay [2012-02-26 15:36:59 +0000 UTC]

TO be fair, stars aren't on fire, as much as they are nuclear fusion reactors so hot they glow brighter than any fire.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Fish-okay In reply to Slartybardfast [2012-02-26 19:17:10 +0000 UTC]

Well yeah, but fire is just carbon and oxygyn fusing together in a reaction. Not really nuclear fusion but... Hey, for the sake of the joke.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Slartybardfast In reply to Fish-okay [2012-02-27 14:57:34 +0000 UTC]

...Never take CHemistry with that assumption. still, its a joke, so I guess I can let you off easy.

...this time...

Let's just pretend the Fact Core said it.

...or are they?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 0

Raenafyn [2011-10-07 23:28:00 +0000 UTC]

another fact: because space is a vacuum, you can't talk in space either XD but that would have killed the ending of portal 2...
but LOL, awesome

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Kimono-chimera In reply to Raenafyn [2012-04-16 15:15:08 +0000 UTC]

I always thought they were talking through radio waves. So they would be able to hear each other.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Raenafyn In reply to Kimono-chimera [2012-04-16 16:10:55 +0000 UTC]

that would make sense for the robots, though i'm not sure how Chell would have been able to hear them, unless she had a hidden radio we weren't aware of :/

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 2

FFXluvur12 In reply to Raenafyn [2015-03-03 22:24:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, considering the portal was creating a pocket of air, it's possible that she heard Space Core and Wheatley. Also, since the air was rushing out, it's also possible that Wheatley might have turned his volume up just to be heard. It is also probable that Chell has some sort of transceiver implanted in her to receive audio messages. Who knows what GLaDOS did to her prior to the events in Portal 1.Ā

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 0

Kimono-chimera In reply to Raenafyn [2012-04-16 22:34:22 +0000 UTC]

Well I had a theory that they had two auditory channels. The radio frequency, and internal speakers. So Chell could hear the speakers, and the robots could hear both speakers and radio frequencies.

Although I guess the anger over scientific impossibility is what got it so many views. seriously. wtf? 1000?? I wish my giant robo-Atlas and power loader GLaDOS got that much attention, instead.

I'm glad someone know about that part. C: I sort of like to think that, rather than space, he was programmed with obsession over destination.
