Description A random sword I just had one of those urges to make....
Modeled in Maya 2012.

I would love to hear some opinions and critique. ^^

*Edit: I've had a few comments with the same critique, so I finally got around to uploading a better render.

Nice render and model but it looks plastic and toy like due to a lack of reflections and a metallic luster.

A lot of people have been telling me that, so I just now put up a better render of it. If you have the time, please take a look and tell me what you think. ^^

nice model but your rendering is a little lack luster. for shiny things id suggest a mental ray mia material and using a HDRI for image based reflections. this just gives the model something to reflect and just generally look a lot better.

I actually did render this in mental ray. (I pretty much don't render using anything else.) This was originally a render I was turning in to my modeling professor, so I didn't really put any effort into the reflection...

Hahaha. Thank you very much. I do appreciate it. And I did put it in this victorian mansion and used it to render out the reflection. I just never uploaded it.
