panorama style. cropped in photoshop.from this shoot, i probably got about 200 good images with different lightning patterns but the same cityscape. this could be one of the last i submit.

great photo, I like the detail in the sky, the clouds are very cool, I would try to get some more detail in them, expecialy on the left side.
I would like to see it printed really big, You should try to.
honestly, I feel like the center of the photograph is the only intresting part, the hot spots on the left and right only take away from the image.
As stunning as panoramas are, this one may be too much

wish it was a bit larger so it would fit well in a 20 or 22 widescreen.
Seattle is the ultimate pani city, I have some friends that live at Alki beach and I've gotten some nice shots from there porch.

Where in Seattle did you takes these from? I do all my shots from Gasworks, but it looks like you were on the opposite side of the city

i took these from alki. gasworks is alright...however kerry park would have been the best place to shoot from this night.

So i guess i'm going against popular opinion here. (oh no not an actual critque?! quick run hide!) Using the fish eye on this shot was a bad call. panoramic city scapes should look nice and flat, straight up and down. instead this looks like the city is getting sucked into a black hole. I would correct this with a perspective bend on both sides. Don't get me wrong the subject is great, and by looking at the rest of your work i know you know what you are doing, and it's the composition that matters just as much as the subject.

thanks for the comment. i totally agree....although i wasn't exactly using a fisheye lens. i was using my 17-40.
i wanted to show the whole cityscape(from space needle[left] to safeco field[right]). the bend is the consequence for shooting the widest i could.
if only we'd get more nights like this.
anyways....thanks for the critique. i don't prefer to hear the repetitive "sugar-coated" replies. it's about time.

incredible textures in the clouds, and the lighting/ exposure is just right! Very nicely shot, although I would have liked to see a little bit ofa tighter crop or zoom, so that the lighting didnt seem so small and far away.

no joke, this is one of the craziest photos i've ever seen...and the fact that i know how hard it could be to find such a nice place to shoot the shot, and get the shot at just the right time...it all amazes me....lightning doesnt just strike whenever you want it to, so i congratulate you on this success.
