I love ice and I love teh way this picture looks in general, everything about it is beautiful.

Call me weird, but do you see the face in this? In the right hand side, where the ice curves, look under that arch. I can like, see two eyes that are closed, and a nose, with the ice framing the face like hair or a snow hat.

This is a beautiful photo, there is nothing i would change at all. I personally do not like the border, i would prefer it to be the same thickness all the way around the shot, and maybe white.
This is only my personal opinion and is no way meant offensively.

bitter? maybe a bit, or?... maybe not at all. i do know that atleast my comments dont continue in the same vapid fashion as most peoples' response to this. i feel that it is just an average shot. but for some reason, i should disregard my opinion and tell him/her how beautiful the shot is, just because it has been featured. not particularly saying that is what you're suggesting, but it seems to be the implied vibe every time i'm critical of photograph. i guess it wouldnt be such a big deal to me if others also disagreed with me when i was being supportive, i wonder if anyone would say i was being negative, biased... or call me bitter even.
anyways, i feel the blue tinged tone suggests that the white balance was incorrect for the outside enviornment. considering that this deviant uses a couple canon cameras, i guessing that the tungsten setting was used by mistake. i feel i shouldn't have to defend myself everytime i critique a submission (or feature in this case), but i am more strongly opposed to censorship and anything that works to suppress the freedom of human expression (such as art or speech). all in all, i just wanted to respond to your comment and clarify my position. as i feel that there maybe one or two better shots in my gallery, im not just simply refering to myself. there are plenty of deviants i watch with shots much more stunning, creative and appetizing than this particular one... if you want proof, or just care enough as far as your curiosity may have been sparked then check a few of them out.

PS: no disrespect is meant to this artist either. (s)he has some other shots that i think are more worthy of a feature.... i just don't see this one as properly representative of his artistry or this sort of weather/climate focused shot for that matter.

sigh... i think so far ive had some decent precipitation scenes of the winter season, but alas no one notices. its a little unnerving to see this featured, its really simple (which could be a good thing) and has a blue tone to it (which might have been intentional, but considering the subject matter i'd say it was an indoor white balance setting used by accident). i can't say i think it's worthy, call it jealousy, call it honesty, call it negativity... those are all crosses im willing to bare because it is how i feel. congratulations anyway, i think i'll have a look for some other gems im sure you're holding in your gallery

I really like this piece. It's got a good composition, and has a good sense of variety even though the whole piece is in blue. The icicles are very crisp and well-focused, and they really drag my eye around the whole piece! The bottom right corner might need a tad of tweaking such as adding a bit more blue or such to complete the eye-track around the photo, but honestly it's not that big of a deal. Instant
