Description
Full-view please! My entry for =ulario 's contest (the details of which are discussed here ).
Inverted colored pencil shading (those curious about the original, non-inverted drawing see here ), based on a printout of ulario's original work (located here ), with some minor tweaks applied.
Took about 8-9 hours for shading, and don't even think about asking me how many scales there are ... *sigh* the curse of being a detail freak ....
8.5x11", full-views at 75px/in, roughly the same size as Ulario's original.

Can't. I've tried, but it never comes out looking that way in the end.

I really like your inverting technique, come to think of it. The original looks strange compared to this. That color scheme really caught my eye too, and the shading and detail is very well-done. Annnnd I like the little mountains in the back too.
Good luck with the contest too. Unless, it is already finished that is.

Very beautiful. Or handsome, depending on gender... ^_~
(Wouldn't want to go around insulting a dragon now, would we? Heh.)

LOL! Holy crap that's a lot of scales... I don't think I'd have the patience to do that and I appreciate the amount of effort that went into it. And it was done on black paper... I've always thought that colored pencils on black paper always look very professional.
Very creative job with the color scheme as well... The pink details contrast the green of the main body very nicely.

Actually it was done in reverse on white paper, then inverted. (See the original version here .)

Beautiful.. Your best dragon picture to date methinks. Looks like this took forever and a day to finish though ._. (you and your tiny scales!)

You're actually looking at the inverted version of the pieceit, the actual paper drawing looks like this and I wrote a little guide/tutorial to this trick about last year, available here.
