And finally... here is the colored version of the black and white drawing I'd done a few weeks back.Again, this features my favorite characters from Blake's 7 brandishing their Liberator guns and surface gear. From left to right: Cally, Blake, Avon.
The background is pretty simple. I'd tried several different ideas, including a few landscape backgrounds, but I was told that they all seemed to take away from the painting I'd done of the characters themselves. So I decided to go with a simple background this time round.
But I still haven't given up on doing a more complex background... So I may upload another version in future (hence the reason this piece is titled v1).
This was almost entirely colored using openCanvas, and Photoshop was used for some color saturation tweaking.
I think it turned out okay for the most part; it was my first experience using openCanvas and also my first time in years coloring in a painterly style. I enjoyed it!

This is great! I remember watching Blakes 7 on a saturday with my father when I was a kid. Stumbled on your pic of Jenna and ten found this one. Sensational.

That...is...amazing...Wow...You've coloured it so well! They all look great! I love their surface clothes in Series One...they sort of suited their personalities! Nice job!
(By the way, I have a teleport braclet! I wear it everyday without fail! I made it myself!

Yeah, I think that somehow the colors of the surface gear really do match up well with the characters and their personalities. Weird how well that worked, now that I think about it...
I would love to own a teleport bracelet! Did you make yours based off of the Blue Peter segment on the Series One boxed set? I should seriously sit down and try to make one someday...

You got me...yeah...Me and my Mum watched it and shouted almost together, "We must make some!", we made two, out of cardbord, old plastic bottles, oven bake clay, shiny silver paper...etc...One was chewed by the dog, thankfully that one belonged to my brother, and the second I still have!
You ever notice that Blake, Cally, Avon and Gan blend into the background more than Jenna and Vila? No wonder the both of them keep getting attacked, and Jenna is always taken hostage at some point or another, it's her bright clothing I tells ya!
I'm still waiting to watch episode 3, the projector in the attic has got something wrong with the filter, so I can't watch anything up there, and my brother is always on our normal TV, so I can't watch it there either...As I type, my parents are settling down to watch episode 2, but I've already seen it!

Hah! Yeah, the bright clothing doesn't help matters. Especially when you're trying to hide and/or sneak around.
Although, if Cally always wore that godawful leopard get-up she had on in 'Bounty,' I think she'd have been taken hostage more than any of them. Thankfully the thing disappears after that one episode. Maybe Vila accidentally spilled something on her normal green outfit and she had to use a spare?
As for S3, after the first couple eps I think they kind of go downhill for a while... But man, it sure helps make episodes like "City at the Edge of the World" and "Sarcophagus" THAT much better! You'll see what I mean when you get to those. They're like a breath of fresh air!

Ah sweet! I can't wait to see them! I think I had better watch them with the parents from now on though...well...maybe I'll go and watch one later...We have a home cinema thing with a 73 inch screen and a projector, plus six speakers, so it makes Blake's 7 look really rather fantastic!
I also can't remember a single episode from Series Two...honestly...I can't...I must have watched them SO long ago...So I might just do a little remembering with a few of them.
I don't like some of Jenna's stuff you know...some of it is really nice, but others just don't suit her, or just look really horrible...or just ends up acting as another bad-guy magnet!
