A meeting of epic proportions indeed!
Well I know where this was posted without even having to look, considering that 'coolguy' fellow commented. x3

Tee hee hee. Terrible Ponies is not my primary source, you know. You wouldn't believe what you can find in the gallery of the supporters of most crap OCs.

Well Mr. Coolguy, if that is your true username and not some sort of alias, considering you comment on most if not all of the recent postings on said blog one would assume that you are like a poster boy for the blog~ And I'm sure if something you've commented on hasn't been posted on the blog yet, you are most likely the one to submit it afterwards. =3

Semi-true. Semi-false. "Poster Boy". That's true, if taken a tad literally, as i've submitted a few things to TP. Correct on the 2nd assumption, though. Also, yes, this is my actual username. My memory is not that good, you see.

Bahaha, I hadn't thought of 'Poster Boy' in a literal sense like that.
And that is surprising, I've seen many create an alternate user so they can express their opinions in the... manor that you do, so to speak. Though I have no evidence to say if your answer is true or not I shall take your word for it, kudos for not hiding behind a different name.
I have had a number of my images submitted there (not by choice mind you) so I'm sure I shall be receiving a visit from you sometime in the future. *tips hat*

I'll look forward to it. Brutal honesty may seem harsh to a lot of people, but it works if people listen. Sadly, however, a lot of them don't.

I don't think it's really a matter of if brutal honesty works or not, it's more a matter of having different opinons. Some people may just be really happy with what they came up with even if it looks weird or silly and doesn't follow canon and not want to change what they've made in any way because they are personally pleased with it. In this day and age I believe people should pay more attention to what they want rather than what others think they should have. And I'm sure if some people were a little bit nicer in their brutally honest opinions they'd have more people listening to them. It's all in the way a comment is presented really, if it's a nicer comment it would be much more likely for the artist to actually pay attention to it, at least that's been what I've noticed in the past. I've had people bash the hell out of some of my more controversial OCs but there were some with the exact same complaints as these bashers that told me them in a civil manor that I found were much more pleasant to read and actually got me thinking about changing some of the things they had complains for. Of course that's not always the case and sometimes even nice comments pointing out flaws will get a negative reply from people but in general I believe you'll get more bees with honey than with vinegar or however that old saying goes. XD In the end though it should all be about having fun which is what a person does when they make an OC, I mean that's why people create them, to have fun, to have some kind of outlet for their creativity, to relieve their boredom after a long day. I for example love drawing wacky OCs like these two Queens here, I have a child of the right one and despite her having a strange appearance and bright colors, I love her to pieces. Some people just find OCs like that visually interesting, and I for one find them very interesting to draw and especially to use in breedings, there is just so much you can do with them when you breed together two OCs like this, and I find myself continuing to try and top the wackyness with each foal. And I don't treat any of my OCs as jokes even if they look batshit crazy because, well I believe they deserve some sort of dignity in that regard. When I come up with a back story and a personality for a character, as overpowered or strange as some of them may turn out to be, it feels like a piece of myself has been put into it, like I've given birth to something even though it doesn't really exist, but in some way it feels like it does because you think up of stories and scenarios it might be a part of and in that regard it sort of gives it it's own life.
I'm sorry I'm rambling at this point, just giving my two cents as a person who loves to make alicorns, over powered and generally wacky OCs. XD I duno I just think if someone doesn't like an OC they shouldn't be so mean about it is all, I know the internet is generally mean when it comes to these things but it doesn't have to be.
Oh god I really shouldn't stay up this late. XD

Well, think of it like this: I review OCs in a similar fashion to how Yahtzee Croshaw reviews games. You don't go to him if you want to know if a game is good, correct? He's brutally honest about the game, regardless of how much flak he gets for it. Also, you may respond better to kinder criticism, most people won't even care about an opinion unless it's forced upon them, and that, good sir/madame, is what i do best.

I'm not familiar with him but I think I get what you're saying. The difference with that is thought where games are meant to be enjoyed by everyone, a person generally creates an OC so they can have fun for themselves, with others who may like it tagging along for the ride to watch how this character unfolds because they enjoy the design choices if that makes any sense. XD Like, I'm sure this person wouldn't take a game like COD and say it's bad because it sucks at being a 2D Platformer, because that's not what it is, that's how I think about non-canon characters when someone says they're bad because they don't follow canon, if they weren't meant to follow it then it isn't really fair to judge it based on that is what I'm trying to say. xD
I suppose that is true but forcing your opinion on someone doesn't really seem like a viable thing to do, they may not care about it unless it's forced upon them but that seems like it would only get their attention in a negative way and make them not want to change it all the more, and in the process if it's a person who would have reacted better to kinder criticism, you won't be helping them either because they also won't want to listen. xD But I suppose different strokes and all that jazz, to me it seems like it wouldn't work the least bit but perhaps it has.

I can't say I'm surprised. It's staying up regardless of what they say. I am immune to TP at this point. I've had a bunch of my OCs posted there.

Yep, same here! Though none of my stuff has been posted for awhile which is very surprising (especially Kamaria, I figured they'd have a field day with a Lion Pony whose parents are Luna and Scar) , perhaps they took my hint that I don't give two shits about them, if only they'd take yours. ;w;

Yeah. I'm not too worried though. I design or adopt my OCs cause I like them. Quite honestly, I don't care if other people don't like them and with OCs like QMA, I've found that there are just as many that like her as those that don't. Different strokes for different folks.

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. They were originally joke OCs which is the reason why they are so colorful. Believe it or not, I've actually toned QMA down a bit from her original design.
I like QMA just as she is and Neoceltia likes QDJB.

.. I sincerely hope this is a joke. I really, really do. Rainbows, in small amounts, look nice, but when you include EVERY COLOR ON THE SPECTRUM WITH NO MODERATION WHATSOEVER, you get an ugly mess with an even uglier color scheme. The black one ESPECIALLY looks poor. Why put yellow on black? Why put cyan and bright green with brown? Why put BROWN WITH PURPLE?! Also, they are alicorns. If done right, alicorns can be good, but THEY ARE NOT DONE RIGHT HERE.
(don't even comment on the fact i have no deviations. I'm a critic. Not an artist.)

I'm sorry, but while both of these OCs started as joke OCs, they are serious OCs now. A lot of people love them. They're meant to be tacky and sort of Mary Sue-ish because as I said, they used to be jokes.

You shouldn't expect much from pony base users with sparkle ocs. Seizure inducing color schemes look real nice to their eyes (which are somehow immune).
