In the last few days I've been in a nostalgic mood, remembering all the Disney fun I had as a kid. I was also reminded of a silly secret - my Disney crush on Aladdin! I'm sure a lot of us have a certain Disney character who is just our type, and I thought it would be a fun idea for a contest. And with Valentine's Day coming up, now is the perfect time to host it!

About the challenge:
For this challenge, you will be creating a deviation focusing on the Disney crush of your choice - the one character from Disney that you think is the dreamiest!

Despite my love of a lot of Disney dudes, the list of ones that I have a crush on is actually very short.
So who's my Disney crush? Why, Jakey, of course!! :3

I usually draw older Jake as a dragon, but for this contest in particular I wanted older human Jake, because even though drawing dragons is a tad easier for me, I love Jake whether he's a dragon or not.
I'll say he's about 19 to 22 here, and he's a little lankier and square-faced than his 21yr-old design from "Young at Heart," because I'm not a huge fan of that design.

My Reason:
I guess I can't explain why I like Jake so much without explaining a bit about why I liked the show (though feel free to skip to the last two paragraphs if you just want to know about my thoughts on Jake)...

Originally I was not planning on liking the show that much. I saw the trailers and the show itself didn't seem that interesting to me and the only reason I paid any attention to it was because it mentioned dragons. Also, only the silhouette of Jake's dragon form--the only aspect of the show that seemed interesting to me at the time--from the logo was visible, and I hated the design, so I thought, "Okay, this show's going to suck and who the flick-flack was in charge of designing the dragon because it looks dumb?"
But, it's within my nature to check out pretty much any show at least once, especially if it's animated, so I sat down one day, watched an episode ["Legend of the Dragon Tooth," in particular] and....I've been hooked ever since.

It was corny, the mythology of the world was fun, but nothing too engaging, the comedy wasn't always good (though, granted, the writing got tighter and better throughout Season 2), but I loved it all the same. Plus I had seriously misjudged Jake's dragon form design; I think they handled a lot of aspects that could have worked against it pretty well (the overbite looked much better than I thought it would look; usually hair on animals/creatures looks odd, but I think it worked for Jake (not so much on S1 or S2 Haley or on S2 Sun, unfortunately), etc.)
(Honestly I think most of the dragons (at least from Season 1) have some of the most original animated dragon designs I've seen.)

Jake was definitely the best part of the whole show for me, I loved his interaction with every character he came across and I fell in love with his personality--he was energetic, he cut corners, he cheated, he sometimes tried to find the easy way out of stuff, he was sometimes selfish or greedy, but he was also very determined, he still tried to do his best in the end, and he actually learned from his mistakes. He never gave up and once he put his mind to something and decided to do the right thing, not only did he do it, he kicked ass at it.

It's kind of funny that I've had such a huge crush on Jake all this time, because he's practically the complete opposite of my "type"--he's short, he's talkative and a show-off, he's much more into hip-hop culture and music (even if he sometimes acts like a wannabe lol), and he's sometimes confrontational, but, I just adore this guy.

It's been 10 years since the show premiered in 2005 , and, Jake, I still love you!
