Description **EDIT: Kate does not live in New York, she lives in the countryside of London, nearly the Dearly farm.**

the result of sitting in my room over the 3-day weekend watching waaay too much of "101 Dalmatians the Series" and, once again, hit with my Dalmatian obsession bug.

I freakin' love Dalmatian spots, but it's difficult to find merchandise with them, that's not designed for a 2yr old or that's not polka-dotted or covered in cow spots (yes, there's a difference. Polka dots are neat, placed in exact rows and are the same size; cow spots are more like huge blotches).

Kate, here, is a new character I came up with while just doodling. And I wrote a bunch of crap around her. Most of her spot patterns are a mix from Pongo and Perdita's (she's not a relative of the 101 Dalmatians, she just has their spot patterns), and I gave her a black stripe on her forehead thanks to watching The Lion King 2...or rather also going through a Zira craze.

The thing I really like about her is her muzzle. I purposely gave her a very wide muzzle, similiar to Pongo's, which I usually don't do--my muzzles usually aren't that wide or circular. Though my style was influenced by Disney and I learned mostly from watching Disney movies/shows, my style is not Disney's; though in this particular case, I did try to make her very 101Dalmatians-feature-film-ish. In the movie, Pongo and Perdy has very wide muzzles and very thin bodies; normally, I don't draw my Dalmatians as thin as they were, but I love the look. The way Pongo and Perdita walk and the way their shoulders move and spots move with them when they do is just gorgeous. It's little things like that that made the kid in me want to be an animator long before I knew what animation was.

Though it may not always look it, my method of drawing muzzles, fur, paws, etc. are different (not to mention, though Disney has a recognizable "style," hundreds of artists have worked, do work and will work for Disney, so the "style" is a mix of hundreds of styles.)

so...she's a new out-of-the-blue character that I might keep around. I never uploaded a picture of her, but sometime in last 2011 (I believe) I made another Dalmatian character named Duma. She also had spots purposely similar to Pongo's, but I gave her a pink, furry tail. Perhaps Kate is an upgraded version of what Duma was...or came from the same kind of inspiration?....I dunno.

anyway, I love her already and hopefully she'll show up more if I come up with more of a personality for her.
I think she might be the personification of my Dalmatian obsession...I don't yet.

I love pretty much everything "101 Dalmatians" related, which is why I love Dalmatian spots so much. ^^

Kate isn't biologically related to Pongo or Perdy, but she looks up to them as very respected and loved authority/parent figures; I guess she could be considered a very close friend-of-the-family; she pretty much wants to be their adopted daughter.
