**edit: been moved to scraps.some sketches done while i wa watching The Princess and the Goblin
i havent seen this movie since i was a child. saw a preview of it while i was watching The Polar Bear King (also havent seen in yrs) and was like "OMGPRINCESSGOBLINMUSTWATCH."Prince Froglip was always my fav char XD;; he's so gross, but hilarious. he talks like Daffy Duck and Sylvester the Cat, spittin everywhere lawlz. i drew his face too widely and square :/ never drawn him before, and i was lookin at the cover and back screen shot. not very helpful; was tryin to pay attention to the movie, so i wasnt drawing much during it.
Curdie is also cute. i LOVE the song he sings in the beginning. "A Power Inside Us"
but everyone in the end ruins it when they all sing together 
ah well. i made his...shirt thing longer under his belt.cute little goblin creature XD actually they're quite big in the movie. i made it look too sad, though lolz. any fan of old kids movies should def see this one

yar, i own The Polar Bear King. i dont really see why i liked it, though. i was watching it and it was veeeery boring. or maybe it's just cuz my taste in movies has changed?

XD Yeh, the PBK is kinda boring but I like it when tht chick gets to the evil girls castle. Even though thats like at the end. >_> I dunno bout the Boobleibsber though, maybe.... Lawls! XD Old cheesey movies are cool. that reminds me I havent seen the Black Cauldron in years.... I think thats what its called. <_<

Great sketches, you drew Froglip's body particularly well. The face was very cute but it was a little squarish, as you said. Not that it detracted from his attractiveness at all, because it didn't. I still thought he was utterly adorable and wanted to glomp him. ^^
Curdie and the goblin creature were also very well drawn. Only criticism I could give on Curdie is that his face looks not quite right somehow. It doesn't really look like him. His body looked accurate though.
And the creature was *very* well done, and I don't think it's a bad thing that you made him look sad. He was very sad before Curdie came along to cheer him up, after all. ^^
Great job on these! You shouldn't give up on them if you had plans for them, I think you've mastered each character's details really well.

regarding Curdie, i was trying to draw him closer to my own style. like i said, ive gotten a lil better XP and changed my style a bit.

But of course, I think Froglip is my favorite character too. I just made some stamps with him, so you can see them if you like. He clicks with me in some way, but I guess I thought his relationship with his mother was really cute X3 . And y'know, for some reason, I thought someone was going to suck their thumb as they went to sleep and I had a major "dawww X3" when I was right. Ha, Froglip *pokes*
*sigh* And I only watched the movie for the first time since last night/WAY yesterday morning. *looks at clock*

Yessss, he is such a Momma's Boy
After getting pulled out of the water, he is weeping and shivering (with an occasional "outrageous!" here and there) while his mother is coddling on him. You'd think he'd be pretty humiliated after:
* His plan failed
* Getting beaten by a nine-year-old
* Getting shoved off a waterfall and nearly killed by the nine-year-old
* Knowing he was part of the reason why the plan failed
The King, meanwhile, is completely ignored by his own wife and son and is hanging from a tree somewhere. Even AFTER he's down, he's ignored by them 
King: Ummm...?
Queen just glances and goes straight back to babying Froglip
Queen: There, there, my little repugnance, we will have a better plan soon.
Froglip: *sob* Outrageous!
King: O________O I'll just...go....*ignored*
"What if" scenario fanfiction would be awesome. I did have a bit of idea that I don't think I'd do. Basically Froglip's gone a little crazy, not only after being heavily humiliated by getting defeated by a child, but also extremely upset by the death of his mother (it's up to the reader to decide how that happened) and, of course, he blames it on the Sun People. He comes up with another plot to marry the Princess and some of it involves kidnapping the Duchess' daughter (who is also one of Irene's older friends) because he knows that the Princess would be bold enough to come after her alone. But then he starts thinking that he has fallen in love with the Duchess' daughter. Too late! The other part of his plan is already in action!

uh, right lol. for some reason, when i was rewinding it in my VCR (haha, i still have one XD ), it would stop it in the middle of Curdie's song in the beginning. i had to rewind it myself with the movie still showing :/ odd.

I can't say I'm terribly impressed by the film, but the character Froglips and his dynamic way to move and speak was great fun to watch! Unfortunately the Swedish dub is so horrible that itβs embarrassing plus that the DvD is bugged... :/
Anyhow, it's a nice sketch! Froglips is of course what takes my attention, not only because I like the character but you have also given him a distinct and interesting face expression. He looks a bit different as you said, but to be honest, I like your version better. The more strict shapes and natural portions are very neat if you ask me

lolz. same here til you commented XD yeah, it's a bit corny and moves fairly quickly with the storyline, plus Princess Irene is SO ANNOYING >:0 ...but the characters do move quite smoothly, mostly haha.
