Yep this is for #100ThemesChallenge - Drowning. They have my permission to put this in their gallery ^^ It also has a story behind it. As you can see it is also for The stop aerial hunting in my journal (go see it for more information) It is me in my wolven form (this is also a rant) I wasn't feeling the best at school when I drew this. Anyways, you are most likely wondering the story behind this.It was a beautiful sunny day. I was making my way down the usual deer trail, it ends at the lake where every animal around get their share of water for the day. Well I was quite thirsty from chasing down rabbits and other wildlife, I usually end up empty handed for my faimly. Then something I had never heard before roared above me. I turned around and listened, it was growing louder as it gotten closer. I squinted my eyes trying to get a glimpse of it from afar. It was shiny and bright in the sunlight making it hard to teel of what it was. Then I heard a loud bang, dirt flew up beside of my foot. My eyes widened and I took a bolt towards the forest hoping to loose it by then, another loud bang echoed through the medow and forests. I let out a yelp as something penetrated into my side, I pushed myself forward, gritting my teeth. Tears streamed down my face, thinking I was going to die. I kept my eyes on the upcomming forest, but it was very short. Hoping, praying to loose them there. I heard another gunshot which I was happy it didn't hit me. I ran into the forest and I glanced up at the sky, the roaring came from all direstions. I was confused where to run to, but I pushed myself fowards towards the lake. I saw a splitered tree ahead and I tried to jump it, but I was so weak to make it. My shoulder was cut very deeply upon it. I let out a cry and fell to the ground, I began to sob as I stood back onto my feet. The roaring seemed to pass me, and it fell silent. I started to limp towards the lake, I saw the clearing ahead, and the glimering lake between the trees. I passed the opening and glanced around, my breathing became very heavy. I walked slowly to the mouth of the lake and took a few laps of the water, my legs where trembling. I perked my ears and raised my head hearing that same roaring sound, I quickly stood up then ran towards the bolders hoping to hide there, when I made it to the first one I climbed onto it. I hardly had any strength left in my body. I steped onto the second and third. I used the rest if my strength to jump onto the last couple. I seemed to blend in very well with them. I wasn't able hear anyting but the loud thumping inside of my head. I gazed around trying to see the shining object into the air. Then I felt a sharp pain in my hind leg, I let out a scream but it was hard to hear myself. I lost my balance upon the rock, and fell into the deep part of the lake. I saw nothing but blurs, and I thought to myself as I sunk deeper into the lake, What did I do to deserve this? The thudding in my head faded and I was unable to move as I let the water fill my lungs. I closed my eyes for the last time, the pain left my body and I knew I would never see my mother or father again....
I love the art, not teh story too much but I hope you enjoy

not currently. I doubt people will ever be allowed to do that. hunting is okay, as long as no one side is at a greater advantage than the other. it's unfair to shoot animals from helicopters an planes, as well as using tanks to kill a deer/wolf/bear/ whatever. that's just overkill. literaly.

Oh well, Personally it was less about hunting than it was to feel the armor rattle as the the great machine plows through the snow, Its metal skin gleaming in the morning sun, to feel the power of its mighty engine.

HUNTING IN GENERAL IS WRONG! thats what i think. I do not support anything that has to do with murdering animals unless its for a very good reason. AND NO, TAKING THEIR FUR IS NOT A GOOD REASON PEOPLE! Its wrong to kill a wolf for fun and games. people say the population is high enough. THATS BULL HSIT EVERYONE. wolves are endagered. especially grey wolves. the earth has all its animals for a reason, so stop killing them!

Well, there are actually people who must hunt wolves. no, not for food. they dont do anything with the body really, except for using it's fur for warmth. but, I agree that they have a very good reason. Those people live off of elk, carribou, and many other creatures, since they cannot afford to fly out to the closest town, which is nearly 500 miles away. They could just grow crops, but what if they live in one of the coldest places on Earth which is covered with snow three fourths of the year? so, they hunt various animals for the food they must live on. unfortunately, most of the animals they hunt are prey for wolves as well. and since small prey is hard to find in the colder months, people must hunt larger game, such as elk and carribou in the summer and spring time to store for winter. People rely on these for food, but as well as their furs. I am a hunter, and I agree. people should not take an animal for the simple joy of killing it. but sometimes, it is necessary for people to hunt an animal for its fur. people can hunt for food all they want, but if they can't pay for their bills, then how will they keep a roof above their heads? then, they must sell the furs, because they rely on the meat to feed them. however, wolves also hunt the animals people must live on. in fact, in the time they've been coming back, they're actually OVER HUNTING THEM.
btw, if you stopped calling all hunters liars and actually listened and talked to one of them, than you might understand the concept a little better, instead of completely shutting them out everythime they try and defend their case.

Yeah I completely agree with you besides hunting in general, I mean if I had to hunt an animal none of it would go to waste. I would eat the meat, tan the hide, and use the bones.
Just as a sport and hanging up as a trophy isn't good enough for me.

yea. arial hunting is cruel. they chase the wolf until its too tired 2 run. then they shoot. most of the time it doesnt even kill on the first shot, so the wolf is struggling on the ground in pain until it dies. its a crual way to die. also, apparently huntings "good" for population control. if its for population y do we hang their heads on the wall and stuff them?

if we're going to take an animals life, then we should respect and use every part of it. Take the native americans for example. when they hunted an animal, none of it went to waste. also, it proved the hunter to be powerful and then he/she became well respected. some of them used antlers to remind their people that they are of a high rank, and why they are so respected. it's somewhat simillar today.
And about shooting an animal after it goes down. there is actually a man who died because he only shot the animal once. he approached the deer he'd shot, but it was still alive. the deer kicked him. hard. deer are known for their sharp hooves. the deer kicked the hunter and punctured one of his vital organs. the hunter died shortly after. this story is one hundred percent true, fairly recent (2011), and exactly why hunters shoot an animal multiple times one his bullet makes contact with that animal. now, imagine the hunter was you, and the animal you've shot was a wolf. Wether the wolf will die eventually or not, it will do anything and everything to get away from you. if they see that running away from a gun is nearly impossible, they will do evrything in their ability to kill you.
and another reason is because it is always better to take an animal's life that to leave it cripled, ready to be ripped apart by something else. it is just inhumane to leave an animal crippled like that. in most cases, it's nearly impossible to correct. therefore, it is much more humane to kill an aniimal right there and then, than let it be ripped apart and eaten alive by a predator.
btw, I like the picture!

It can't be fixed in my opinion now days, majority of the citizens are hunters/farmers want to hunt and kill off the wolves because they are a simple 'nuisance' to them. So I believe one day the wolves will be just the same as the Native Americans and buffalo of the Great Plains. They were both executed in the name of civilization.

I agree. hunting from an airplane puts the hunter at a complete advantage. that's unfair to the animal on the ground.

why do people argue that hunting's bad because it's murder, but never defend the so called "murder" of fish? they're animals to.
