Description Just home from a 4 days vacation on Iceland, where we have traveled 1500 km and seen alot of amazing nature.
This is the volcano Stutur, deep in the highlands of Iceland. It was raining sideways and the tiny road we were driving on was falling apart due to the heavy rain.
But this was a spot I had planned before we left, and was not going to let the rain stop me!
It was pretty much take one shot, wipe the lense and repeat.

Canon 5D Mark IV,Β Tamron 2.8 lense.

what a lush green. any idea what the green is from? moss? grass? bushes? Thanks for this wonderful photo.

Thank you
I think it is some kind of moss. Even in the areas where there was just black volcano sand there were still some bushes and flowers growing.
And it was raining heavily, but still it looked like there was sunlight because the colors were so strong.
Such a mystical and amazing area to witness.

The one on the right, just above the forefront. It’s got a deep winding line going across that looks like a snake’s mouth, and the dark areas just above that (left and right sides) are the β€œeyes.”

May I ask how did you travelled there? Did you walked all the 1500km?

Hehe no
We rented a 4x4 car those days. On Iceland there is alot of so called F roads where it is not allowed to drive with smaller cars than four wheel drive.

Im not sure actually, but think it is some volcano color.
We saw one giant volcano in the same area that was almost completely crimson red.

Awesome light and colour - was there much post processing involved? Iceland is amazing even when the weather is bad I had rain and 10`C during the summer ...Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

streamweb In reply to kaetrouv [2018-07-30 19:40:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
Not much post processing needed on this one, just some minor details.
The colors in this landscape was amazing, from the strongest green and red, to total blackness.
I think Iceland looks better in bad weather, since the nature is so extreme

kaetrouv In reply to streamweb [2018-07-30 20:20:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah sunshine is not that great for photography.
And there is always something about the light and colours of images taken in Iceland. Most of the time you can tell that is was shot there on the first glance.Β
